Physical model of site and new Castle proposal
A park of 40 Hectares climbs up from the Via Aurelia to the top of the mountain Piccaro in Liguria, North-West Italian region. A complex and innovative irrigation system built by three dams for water storage. A system of paths along the existing forest and green areas of the project. A journey through time that brings out the native species and the original water system. The presence of an abandoned Castle, now regains full vitality through the restoration and re-functioning. On the ground floor access to new destinations and accommodations to the areas of public practice is offered, the entrance to the botanical gardens and museum of natural values. The new residential component is set against the valley overlooking the square and determining the north-eastern border defined by quite content density and compactness of its tradition of local settlement. The footprint of the building is part strictly preserving historical monuments and the components of the complex, replacing all the elements that have resulted in the final stage of use a deep degradation of the original plant. This is how the Ligurian village of the twenty-first century is configured
