SEMESTER ABROAD IN ANDORRA (UNIVERSITY OF ANDORRA) FEBRUARY - JUNE Immerse yourself in the culture of one of the most unique countries on earth – the microstate of Andorra, which lies high in the Pyrenees Mountains between France and Spain. Through a partnership between the University of Andorra and College of the Rockies, General Management Diploma (second year), Marketing Diploma (second year) or BBA (third year) students can complete their winter semester in Andorra.

SEMESTER ABROAD IN DENMARK (VIA UNIVERSITY COLLEGE) JANUARY/FEBRUARY - JUNE Engage in international business studies in one of the most dynamic countries in Europe. The College’s partnership with VIA University College, with eight campuses in central Denmark, provides a chance for hands-on learning about business across borders with a student body from several European countries. This opportunity is open to students in the third year of the College’s BBA program.

UNITED NATIONS’ SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS SUMMER SCHOOL (VIA UNIVERSITY COLLEGE) AUGUST Spend four weeks in the Danish city of Aarhus learning about and bringing to life the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Students from around the world will work in teams at VIA University College to address real life challenges related to SDGs such as: • health and well-being for all, • reduced inequality within health care, • sustainable production and consumption, and • strong, democratic and engaging institutions for all. The summer school aims to facilitate student community involvement, develop students’ co-creational community skills, enhance inter-cultural skills, and build relationships between participants from different cultures. Credit opportunities are available for College business students.

WHAT WILL IT COST? Tuition for either university is paid to College of the Rockies and is the same cost as your typical College semester tuition. Additional costs that you will be responsible for include:

$500 (for travel medical insurance and administrative costs)

Travel to / from Andorra (normally via Barcelona) or Aarhus (through most European hub airports) Living costs (which are approximately the same as in Cranbrook) Personal expenses (food, entertainment and recreation, weekend travel, etc.)

Costs associated with a residence permit (criminal record check)

FINANCIAL SUPPORT IS AVAILABLE College of the Rockies students selected to take part in a semester abroad opportunity will receive a $2,500 International Learning Travel Award. Those selected to take part in a summer school abroad will receive a $1,500 award. Students may also wish to apply for an Irving K. Barber International Travel Award. Meet with the Program Coordinator, Becky Pelkonen (bpelkonen@cotr.bc.ca) to assess outstanding course requirements. Submit a completed application form to Tracey Brenton (studyabroad@cotr.bc.ca), International Projects Officer, College of the Rockies. Pay a $500 deposit (to be refunded if you are not selected). Ask an instructor who is familiar with you and your abilities to submit a reference form to Tracey Brenton.

Applicants will be interviewed by the Program Coordinator and the Manager, International Projects and Partnerships. The College will select up to two eligible students per semester per partner in Europe.
