Counselling and Wellness Booking Options College of the Rockies offers free and confidential fifty-minute counselling sessions for registered College students. Booking options include in-person, on-line and telephone appointments. First time appointments will be emailed an intake form to be completed and returned prior to your appointment. On average, the counsellor will meet with students two to six sessions per semester.

Confidentiality and the Limits to Confidentiality

Helping you with social, emotional or personal concerns that interfere with your studies.

Confidentiality is very important to the College of the Rockies. The information you share with your counsellor is confidential. There are a few exceptions involving legal matters or serious risk to health and safety. The exceptions will be discussed at the beginning of the session.

Some concerns typically brought to the counsellor are: • • • • • • • • • • • • •

Depression Unwanted feelings or habits Problems sleeping Career exploration and course fit Anxiety and fears Relationship difficulties Stress Sexual concerns Loneliness Mental health Crisis Substance misuse Other personal issues

If it is determined that longer term and/or more specialized support would be beneficial, you will be supported in the transition to appropriate community support.

Who uses Counselling and Wellness Services? People like me and you. We recognize that college presents a wide range of challenges. College is a time for personal growth, learning, and building self-knowledge, but it isn’t always easy. Some students need a place to develop coping skills for social, academic, and personal growth. Other students face more complex problems like anxiety, depression, and similar concerns. Our Counselling and Wellness team offers free, confidential support to students currently enrolled.
