We will introduce what dementia is and what it is not. We will teach how dementia is a grab bag of many different types such as Alzheimer’s Disease or Lewy Body Dementia. We will also discuss the link to genetics and links to many environmental and lifestyle factors. The learner should leave with a greater understanding of dementia and perhaps acquire knowledge to help loved ones to a better diagnosis and care. This course is designed to be engaging with lots of interaction and time to ask the instructor questions. This session lays the foundation for the courses that follow, but can be considered a stand-alone course. CR | Saturday | February 22 | 10:00 am – 1:00 pm | S.
