Indian Trail
Indian Trail is situated along US 74 approximately 15 miles southeast of Charlotte in Union County. The town derived its name from the Native American path that wound through this area, hence the name “Indian Trail”. With a population of approximately 38,000 people, Indian Trail is the largest city in Union County and the 23rd largest town in the state of North Carolina.
Waxhaw
Waxhaw is truly an iconic Southern small town with red brick buildings lining both sides of the historic downtown and rail tracks running down the middle. It was recently ranked as the 7th Safest Place to Live in North Carolina. It is 20 miles from Uptown Charlotte and only two miles from the South Carolina state line. Recent years have seen the development of new subdivisions which attracted suburbanites, new schools and medical facilities. The population today is around 15,000.
Weddington
You’ll find the heart of the town of Weddington 14 miles south of Charlotte at the intersection of Highways 16 and 84 in northwestern Union County. Weddington’s roots run deep in agriculture and farming, but recent decades have seen farm land converted into sprawling subdivisions, recreational parks, school campuses, and retail. It encompasses 17 square miles and has approximately 10,000 citizens.
