Becky’s roots trace back to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where she cultivated her passion for Political Science, earning a B.A. from Guilford College. Post-graduation, a visit to a relative in Charlotte with her then-boyfriend, now-husband, Scott, sparked a love for the city that would become their cherished home.

With a teaching certificate from Queens College, Becky dedicated five years to educating in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system. Simultaneously, she and Scott indulged their shared interest in real estate, buying and renovating several homes. In 1997, driven by her passion, Becky transitioned into a real estate career, earning the prestigious Cottingham Chalk Rookie of the Year award in her inaugural year. Since then, she has consistently ranked as a top producer in the industry.

Recognizing the stress inherent in real estate transactions, Becky has guided and supported well over a thousand buyers and sellers over the last 27 years. She considers herself fortunate to have found a vocation that aligns with the age-old wisdom, “If you find something you love to do, you will never work a day in your life.”

Alongside her husband Scott, Becky resides in the vibrant Southpark area, where they raised their three children—Madison, Hampton, and Luke. Beyond her professional pursuits, Becky has been an active community member, volunteering for organizations such as the Barclay Downs HOA, Myers Park High School Baseball program, and various PTA boards. In her leisure time, she enjoys playing tennis, running, expressing her creativity through writing, and applying her artistic touch to interior design.

I’m the daughter of a Navy Captain so I’ve been fortunate to live all over the United States and Europe. I’ve moved 15 times and settled in Charlotte 25 years ago and have been here ever since. You just can’t beat the proximity to the mountains and the beach, and the weather is tolerable- although seems like our summers are getting hotter!

I got into this business when an agent I used to purchase a house, needed a little help in the organization department. She brought me onboard and from there, I learned the ropes working alongside top producing agents at Cottingham Chalk.

I’m married with two beautiful grown daughters and enjoy the beach, traveling and anything HGTV!

Born in a small town in the Catskill Mountains in Upstate New York, I gradually made my way to Charlotte via Maryland. It didn’t take me long to realize that Charlotte is the perfect place to live. I have now called Charlotte home for over 34 years. I started out as a teacher and reading specialist and worked 10 years as a third and fourth grade teacher at Charlotte Latin School. My second career evolved from my love of decorating. My husband and I always bought homes that had great bones but needed some help. We took down walls, added hardwood floors, crown moldings, changed out light fixtures, painted, etc. We did it all ourselves. We had the “vision” to see the potential of every home. I wanted to share that vision with other people. It was a hard decision to leave teaching, but I decided to try my hand in real estate. Twenty years later, I’ve never looked back, and I’ve been a top producer every year. I approach each transaction with honesty and integrity and the client is my number one focus. I am like a Mama Bear who is protecting her young making sure my clients are always the top priority.

SALLY DAVIS

I was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, but my family spent many holidays visiting family and friends in North Carolina. While attending Davidson College, I fell in love with the cooler weather and greener grass of Charlotte and ultimately wanted to call the city home. My husband, Ward, and I placed our roots here in 2000. We have lived in Barclay Downs in South Park since then and have loved raising our daughter and son in this wonderful neighborhood. I spent many years helping my students and patients improve their communication skills as a speech-language pathologist. While raising my children, I have been deeply involved in many facets of our community, including being a dedicated Augustine Literacy Project tutor and board member. I have served many years on the Barclay Downs HOA Board. My desire to serve and help others has always been front and center in my personal life. I love continuing this same commitment to service with all of my clients and joined the Becky McGrath Team in 2021.

KRIS EVANS

Kris Evans has lived on both coasts but has spent the last 20 plus years raising her children with her husband in Charlotte. “Charlotte is a wonderful place to raise a family. We have all the benefits of a large city, without the negatives of urban sprawl. There is nowhere else I would rather live.” Kris started her career in mortgage- backed securities at Bank of America. Looking to make a change from banking, she got her MBA in marketing at UC Berkeley. Soon after both she and her husband finished their advanced degrees, they decided to head east and settled in Charlotte. Since then, Kris has used her skills in many volunteer capacities, including as a board member and president of Olde Providence Racquet Club. KIM PONGETTI

I grew up in Trumbull, Connecticut, my parents were ‘road warriors’ before that was a thing, piling us into the station wagon off on another adventure. We spent a lot of time in the Carolinas and after a short stint in Clearwater, Florida I decided to make Charlotte my home 30 years ago raising my daughter Jessie and enjoying all Charlotte has to offer. Starting off in hospitality as I worked my way through college and for several years after, I transitioned to Bank of America in 2003 to begin my corporate services career of 17 years. Working in large corporate environments taught me time management, communication, contracting and vendor management. It also afforded me the opportunity to have a side career managing investment properties. For years I bought, renovated, lived in, leased and then sold homes. I am thrilled to transition into real estate full time and spend each day doing what I truly love. I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to work with Becky (my agent for many years) at Cottingham Chalk – a firm dedicated to service, professionalism and integrity. I was born in Mississippi and moved frequently throughout my childhood as an Air Force BRAT. After graduating high school in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, I attended the University of South Carolina. Shortly after, I moved to Charlotte and met my husband, David. We had two beautiful girls and Charlotte has proven to be the best place to raise a family. We live in the Cotswold area in the Robinson Woods neighborhood. Since I was a child, I have been obsessed with houses and I made the decision to earn my real estate license after my daughters started school. I was the Co-Rookie of the Year in 1998 with Becky, and the rest is history. Real estate has been a great fit and I love every minute of my job working with my clients.

After 24 years in real estate as a top producer, I decided to join forces with my old corookie of the year and joined the Becky McGrath Team.
