Our aim is to promote well-being through social interaction, friendship and mutual understanding. We have been very keen in the past year, since Covid restrictions have eased, to organise trips to a variety of places such as National Trust properties, garden centres and gardens, and members have also attended well-being talks. Our meetings are relaxed and informal, often we have quizzes or play games, but have also invited people to give artistic demonstrations such as glass-fusing. We occasionally invite speakers along who are able to advise on topics such as diet or appropriate exercise, although we do not give medical advice, we may offer suggestions of other organisations that might be able to help. If you, or someone you know, have/has been affected by cancer please pop along to meet us. In addition to our Facebook public page and closed member only group, we are also listed in Leaping Hare’s online directory and we have recently set up a website at: www.brecklandcancersupport.group

We are a non-profitmaking group and ask for a small donation of £2 per person to help with the costs of room hire and refreshments. Our new meeting venue is the Old Council Chamber at the Guildhall on Thetford Market Place. We meet every second Wednesday of the month, from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Our next meetings will be on the following Wednesdays: 13th July, 10th August, and 14th September. Coming up, we also have a visit planned to Gooderstone Water Gardens on 27th July.
