Nutrition Corner Renew. Rejuvenate. Re-nourish! Who’s up for a challenge? January is the month we make resolutions and we look at how we can possibly live a little healthier, perhaps shedding the few pounds that we collected over the holiday season. Rather than reaching for the moon all at once, my belief is that if we make small changes over a number of weeks we are capable of being more successful. Not a diet, simply changing a few unhealthy habits to Nutrition Advisor Erin Bosdet healthy ones. A lifestyle change, NOT a diet. Starting Monday, January 12th you will have the th opportunity to join us for an eight week challenge. You must sign up by Monday, January 5 and record two or three days of what you eat (food log) prior to January 12th. The eight week challenge will include three meetings where you will be weighed and measured…all completely confidential. You will be given meal plans that are designed around you and your needs, recipes to help make your meal planning easier, weekly handouts to inspire healthy living and unlimited email support. Week one will be a tough week, but it will get easier and you will find yourself full of energy and feeling great! There will be a few great prizes at the end of the challenge for the ‘biggest loser’ and also for the team that collectively sees the biggest difference. All we need from you is your food log prior to the 12th and your full, whole hearted commitment. What will be most important in this journey is that you are patient with yourself. There is no benefit to feeling guilty if you fall off the path here and there, there is no failure when taking small steps to change your lifestyle for the better. If you do stray from your plan, accept it and get right back on track. Be open to change and keep moving towards the things that make you happy. Happy New Year! If you have any questions before signing up, please email Erin at nutrition@countrygrocer.com. (this is for Victoria Admin, Royal Oak, Cobble Hill and Esquimalt stores only).
