MOBILVETTA DESIGN

Two new K-Yachts for 2022. Firstly, the 59 (pictured) which is a compact 5.9m (19’ 4”) and features a rear washroom layout. Secondly, the 7.45m (24’ 5.5”) 95 which includes a palatial Brit-friendly ‘U’-shaped rear lounge. The central heating is changing from the blown-air Truma Combi to the ‘wet’ domestic-style Alde radiator system.

BENIMAR

Benimar’s Benivan 122 is the latest high-top motorcaravan to gain a top-deck bedroom – courtesy of the addition of an elevating-roof to the crown of the high-top. New model is numbered 124, stretches the tape to 6.36m (20’ 10”), and is powered by the 160BHP latest generation Ducato TD motor. Price: £65,999 OTR and fully-loaded. Benimars are only available from Marquis.

AUTO-SLEEPER

The latest Fiat Ducato facelift has put clear blue water between it and the Peugeot Boxer. In order to address this, Auto-Sleeper has specified a raft of improvements on all Boxer-based motorcaravans. These include a 9” touchscreen infotainment head unit with a highdefinition adjustable display, DAB, FM, Google Android Auto, Apple Car Play, Bluetooth and much more. Also upgraded are the cab seats which now get two armrests (about time!) and in addition there will be some new soft furnishing fabrics.

FRESH AIR

New for '22 is the Air. In addition to being our oldest volume motorcaravan converter, AutoSleepers is a past master at building elevating-roof campervans. That said, for some time these have been absent from their line-up, with the possible exception of the extremely short-lived niche Mercedes Vitobased Wave. Now – at last – there is a worthy successor to the long running and hugely popular Auto-Sleeper Trooper, as well as

a welcome return to a Ford base vehicle. Launch model is based on the short wheelbase Ford Transit Custom to which A-S has added an SCA rear hinged elevating-roof with a roof bed as standard.

Air’s compact car-park friendly footprint (overall length 4.97m/16’ 3.75”) should ensure that it will ‘shine’ as an only vehicle. Suitable for all, but particularly aimed at young families, the Air seats five travellers…four if booster seats for ‘nippers’ are used in the rear. There are two double-beds and plenty of storage. Standard specification is impressive; both on the base vehicle and on the conversion. Space heating is courtesy of a Webasto blown-air unit and the galley features a compressor fridge and two burner hob + grill. There’s even a loo, exterior BBQ point, a coldwater shower and a mains hook-up.
