Vauxhall expands EV line with Movano-e

Vauxhall is moving away from its heavy van partnership with Renault and taking on the Stellantis van for its next Movano model. The move will also provide Vauxhall with an electric option in the large van sector, with the launch of Movano-e.

The diesel vans will be offered in four wheelbases and three height options, with panel vans from 8-17m3 . There will also be a wide range of chassis cabs, in single and double cab confi gurations, along with crew cab vans and a platform cab for conversion.

In common with the Peugeot and Citroën e-Boxer and e-Relay, the Movano-e will be offered with a choice of 37kWh and 70kWh battery packs. The smaller unit delivers up to 72 miles of range and the larger battery offers 139 miles. Both batteries drive the vans through a 90kW (122hp) electric motor.

Both the diesel Movano and the electric Movano-e are expected to be launched later in the summer, with the EV van allowing Vauxhall to offer customers a full line-up of electric vans from Combo-e through to Movano-e.

Toyota turns up heat on warranties

Toyota is changing its warranty offer to enable owners of all its commercial vehicles and cars up to 10 years old to benefi t from a full manufacturer's warranty.

The company is rolling out its Relax scheme from June 1. New vehicles will now carry a three year/60,000 miles warranty which can be extended annually by 12 months until the vehicle is 10 years old. Any Toyota vehicles up to 10 years old can take advantage of the same deal on completion of an interim or full Toyota service. Existing fi ve-year warranties are not affected.

In the case of Proace vans, which have 24-month service intervals, Relax will still apply but the extension periods will be 24 months.
