A beautiful red brick old school house, The Old Parish Rooms is set within the grounds of the church at the top of the high street in the picturesque town of Rayleigh.
Boasting a historic façade, inside has a contrasting cool and contemporary interior of white brick walls and exposed steel beams.
The venue offers a blank canvas for big-day styling, with two mezzanine floors that couples can utilise to create different areas but keep guests together in the same room.
For ceremonies, there’s a choice between the ‘chapel’ mezzanine if you’re going for a VIP only guest list of 30; or for a larger gathering, hold the ceremony on the ground floor with it’s high ceiling and huge window ‒ flooding the space with natural light ‒ and standout lightbulb chandelier.
The venue as a whole can seat 80 guests across all mezzanine and ground floors which makes for an amazing atmosphere. For a non-seated party or reception 100 friends and family can attend.
Psst! A favourite photo spot is right outside the venue between the huge windows ‒ the couple standing between the windows has become the iconic shot of this gorgeous building.

The Boundary is set within the 10 acres of privately owned Garons Park Trust land in the heart of Southend-on-Sea. The informal yet immaculate grounds marry perfectly with the beautiful Essex landscape, and include a large nature reserve, pond and sensory garden. Coupled with the cricket field, it’s an exceptional backdrop for photographs.
Set on the edge of the cricket ground, surrounded by previously mentioned beautiful landscapes, the recently renovated Scoreboard Barn and outstanding marquee offer couples the perfect blank canvas for wedding dreams and visions.
Soon to be licensed ceremony spaces ‒ you can currently use these for blessings – the Scoreboard Barn and Outdoor Pavilion can hold up to 120 guests. Post-vows, the fully lined ivory-toned marquee boasts a custom-built, fully stocked, solid oak bar and comes furnished with two adjoining vintage-style lounge areas.
Sheer curtains lead the way into the main marquee room which can hold a maximum of 200 seated guests or 500 standing. What’s more, the space has a large wooden parquet dancefloor located at the end of the room with a beautiful starlight containing thousands of twinkling lights hanging above.
Four fully opening panels lead out to the venue’s private patio area overlooking the cricket pitch; weather permitting, these panels can remain open throughout the event to bring the outside in. The patio comes with outdoor furniture and festoon lighting which provides a gentle glow when the evening sets in.

One of the oldest buildings in England, The Old House is a romantic Grade II listed Medieval venue located in the heart of the historic town of Rochford.
With period features and fairytale touches of a larger venue, the magical The Old Hall, dating from 1270, hosts 24 ceremony guests. With its stunning altar-inspired fireplace and beautiful hammerbeam ceiling, this is an enchanting setting to exchange vows.
The Old House also boasts cosy reception rooms to toast the happy couple and picturesque garden space to the back of the property for exclusive use, perfect for photographs!
Psst! The Old House has two glamourous rooms for members of the wedding party to get ready in ahead of the ceremony.
PARK INN PALACE

Built in 1889, Palace Hotel offers a fantastic views from its vantage point in this popular Essex seaside resort. Located on Pier Hill, opposite the famous Southend Pier, it boasts 137 bedrooms and seven function rooms complete with modern amenities. The banqueting suites denote elegance, warmth, style and tradition, which provide the ideal base for the wedding of your dreams. In fact, several of the ceremony rooms, plus the Lounge, Bar and Restaurant have impressive floor-to-ceiling windows with balcony access too, creating an impressive backdrop for those all-important wedding shots.
The “I dos” can take place in Pier View or Laurel & Hardy. The former is suitable for more intimate vows, accommodating 50 loved ones and offering incredible views across the Southend coastline. The latter can host 80 and is a space to put a smile on your face. It too overlooks the seafront.
You then have a choice of four reception spaces. The largest is the Palace Ballroom, which can play host to 180 and comes complete with its own bar and PA system. The private restaurant, a memorable spot with floor-to-ceiling windows and bright views of the coast, can accommodate 80 nearest and dearest. Royal View has a capacity of 60 guests and is located in a quiet spot on the first floor. Finally, the aforementioned Laurel & Hardy can also host your celebrations allowing you to be accompanied by 50 nearest and dearest.
What’s more, the venue offers a menu tasting included in its wedding packages as well as a complimentary night’s stay in the Bridal Room including breakfast.
