My dress was by Art Couture and I loved the detail on it – lots of bits sparkled and caught the light. I teamed the gown with a veil, which had detail around the edges.

Revealing my dress to dad was incredibly special, as was seeing Tom standing at the end of the aisle. I accessorised simply with a necklace that belonged to Tom’s mother and some earrings that I found to match. I also wore Bluebell shoes from Dune. I was lucky to get them as Tom managed to order the last pair in my size once I’d fallen in love with them.

Tom wore a blue three-piece suit, while the groomsmen and dads wore the matching two-piece version. They paired these with a pink tie and pocket square.

We’d been planning our wedding for years, and after having to postpone, we were both so ready to get married! We both felt happy all day – on a wedding high. And it was lovely to celebrate with those closest to us. The bridesmaids wore long, multi-way, dusky pink dresses.

Our wedding favours were bottles of homemade sloe gin. My family have been making it for years so it was very personal to us.

We kept our centrepieces quite simple as the venue is so beautiful, we felt it didn’t need too much. We had a vase holding a candle surrounded by a flower wreath on each table.

Our wedding cake consisted of three tiers of fruit, chocolate and lemon. There was also one fake tier with ivory icing and some greenery decoration. Our table plan was made from an upcycled frame, which we painted and stuck flowers on to. We used hessian to back it and fit with our rustic theme.

Our flowers were all silk. The bridesmaids flower rings were our favourite pieces. Tom’s mum finished my bouquet so that it was a surprise on the day.

We included a frame to remember relatives who couldn’t be there. We put this in the snug alongside a basket of spa slippers so guests could change out of their heels ready for the dancefloor. The basket of blankets went down well too as it was very chilly!

We had a menu- and wine-tasting evening at Berwick Lodge, which was lots of fun. We opted for pork belly to start, beef featherblade for main and sticky toffee pudding for afters (Tom’s favourite). In the evening, we had pulled pork burgers, with a tower of cheese accompanied by crackers and chutney. We had a very intimate wedding with around 65 guests, predominantly family. Due to Covid, this was the first time many had seen each other in a good while, so it was really special. Everyone was able to catch up and have a good time on the dancefloor with the DJ in the evening.

For Tom, seeing me in my dress for the first time was the highlight. We both loved our first dance too, as well as being able to include our daughter in it.
