ARNOS MANOR HOTEL

With an elegant chapel, beautiful courtyard conservatory restaurant, private function room and 73 bedrooms on site, the Arnos Manor Hotel Bristol has everything you could need for your big day. Ceremonies are held in The Chapel, which retains many of its original features. Receptions take place in the conservatory restaurant. Located in the original courtyard of the building it boasts a glass roof with preserved brickwork. Recently decorated and situated next door to the conservatory, it also offers access to the private Gallery Bar.

LEIGH COURT

Shielded from the city bustle by Leigh Woods, Leigh Court was designed by architect Thomas Hopper in 1814 for Bristol’s first recorded millionaire. The estate has a rich history: having been a religious sanctuary, a family home, and a hospital, it’s also been conquered by, gifted to and used as a safe-haven by kings for a thousand years. In fact, you may well recognise the graceful Grade II listed mansion from its starring role in various productions including Bridgerton and Poldark.

All of the ground-floor rooms are licensed for ceremonies. While the fairytale staircase, skylights, and patterned floor in the Great Hall make it a popular choice; the blush-coloured Morning Room with its floor-toceiling windows and crystal chandelier is favoured by couples looking for a more intimate space.

The Tapestry Room is one of the most beautiful rooms in Leigh Court, with enormous dual-aspect windows and elaborate gold and white ceiling decoration. On the other hand, the Library and Salon are ideal if you’re looking for a space that opens directly on to the lawns.

When it comes to reception spaces, you’re spoilt for choice. Celebrations can be held in one or indeed, all of the ground floor rooms including all of the above plus the Outer Hall, bar and lounge. BERWICK LODGE

Berwick Lodge is an imposing red-brick Victorian manor house, which offers you a first glimpse from the end of the tree- and lantern-lined driveway. The interior has everything you’d expect from a lodge, including open fires and wood panelling, but with an East-meets-West twist on the design.

Set in 18 acres of beautiful gardens and woodland, Berwick boasts views that reach across to Wales. The grounds feature a wealth of photogenic elements such as a walkway to Aphrodite’s Dome, ornate fountains, an orchard and a summer house. Keeping the gardens looking fabulous is an ongoing project, managed by head gardener, Robert Dunster, who previously tended the grounds at Highgrove.

Summeria is an upstairs room lit by skylights, perfect for ceremonies. You can find it in a converted stable block, the Mews, where an original stained-glass doorway leads you into the eaves. Mesopotamia, also in the Mews, is an alternative for the vows. This ground floor room has large windows allowing you to take in the views, pillars to decorate and access to a patio area.

The dining room, known as Hattusa, can host your wedding breakfast and evening do. Its architectural style and crystal chandeliers create a welcoming and intimate atmosphere. Alternatively, elopement weddings for just the two of you are hosted in the pretty little summer house in the gardens.

The venue offers a complimentary menu and wine tasting evening to its couples and most packages include a suite for you on the wedding night.
