You better believe it! Summer weddings are just weeks away as we recently welcomed the lighter evenings when the clocks sprung forward. I even had my first Aperol Spritz of the year, last weekend! Oh, I adore the summer. My wedding, some nine years ago, was on a sunny Saturday in June and boy did everyone enjoy the bubbles and buckets full of ice-cold beers. The Met Office has reported soaring temps for the months ahead and I for one can’t wait to hear all about your glorious days, admire your flowing gowns and see pics of you and your guests having the time of your lives.

If you’re currently shopping for ‘the one’ do check out our feature dedicated to the amazing boutiques just on our doorstep. Gone are the days of trekking to London, as Essex is where it’s at now. Furthermore, I can’t wait to introduce you to our three real weddings, each bursting with character. I’ll leave you to pore over Dr and Mrs Waterhouse’s day with a slight palaeontologist twist; our beautiful boho bride, Lynsey who married Mark at Channels Estate; and not forgetting Mr and Mrs Liddard who married on New Year’s Eve at Mulberry House.

For further inspiration, check out this issue’s styled shoot taken at Layer Marney Tower which has pure Lord of the Rings vibes. Rich, luxurious, with Celtic tones throughout.

If you’ve recently tied the knot and would like to see your wedding day gracing the pages of An Essex Wedding, please get in touch via our website www.anessex.wedding/get-involved-real-wedding or simply ping me an email!

Happy planning!

Markshall Estate Cancels Weddings From October

Beautiful wedding venue, Markshall Estate, near Coggeshall, will no longer hold weddings from 1st October, according to an official announcement made by the venue. The statement on the Markshall Estate Facebook page read, “We’re very sorry that Markshall has had to make the difficult decision to cease holding weddings from 1st October 2023. As a charity we have to respond to the cultural and economic changes that are happening around us and operate in a way that ensures our long-term future. We understand that this will be very disappointing and upsetting for those affected. We will provide help and support in their search for finding an alternative location or other solution in any way we can. Markshall Visitor Centre, Orchard Kitchen and the Arboretum will remain open. We have recently announced the opening of a new adventure play area and school holiday events called Percy’s Adventures which delivers educational activities and content in an innovative, entertaining way.”

If this has affected your wedding, please contact the Markshall team directly on 01376 565420.
