KEEP CALM AND RELAX

I feel anxious about being the centre of attention, so how can I calm my nerves on my big day?

Meet the expert: Jane Tarrant is a breathing re-trainer and the founder of LiNK BREATHING based in Bicester, Oxfordshire.

Jane says: The good news is that the tool you need, your breathing, is already inside you! Now learn how to use it to calm your nervous system. You can let it run away with itself, or you can consciously control it in advance of your nervous system feeling unsafe. You are the centre of attention, but your breath will remind you that you are safe.

Step 1) Pause...you have plenty of oxygen.

Step 2) Breathe in through your nose calmly, and into the bottom of your lungs. Avoid a big breath or breathing into your upper chest.

Celeb Style

How can I get the look of celebrity brides Sofia Richie and television personality Jamie Laing’s new wife, Sophie Habboo?

Meet the expert: Clare Bellman is the face behind Millie Make-up. She’s a professional hair and make-up artist based in Windsor and covers weddings throughout Berkshire.

Clare says: I love an effortless and natural-looking bridal look and a brilliant example of this was Sofia Richie at her recent wedding. Plenty of skin preparation will have taken place to create the radiant look that she had. A glowing base on which make-up will sit well is essential, and that prep will enhance the skin to give an inner glow. Such natural make-up, with a fresh, clean and polished overall look, needs natural lashes too. Her elegant hair with the centre parting oozed style and we’ve been seeing more of this look recently in up-dos and styles worn down. Hair extensions were probably used to create the perfect bun - if you’re wearing your hair up (or down) and you don’t quite have enough hair or have layers then clip-in extensions will work well.

Bride Sophie Habboo, who recently married Jamie Laing, unveiled a radiant look which was quite glamorous but also understated and low-key in parts. Her bouncy locks were blow-dried but also most likely

Step 3) Breathe out through your nose even slower than you breathed in. Twice the length of the inhale is ideal.

Step 4) After a few breaths, see if you can reduce your breath until it is silent, taking pauses if you need to.

Step 5) Practice this as many times as you can in the lead-up to your big day, so you trust your body. Then again during the hair and make-up session.

If this doesn’t feel like enough air, your nose feels too small to breathe through, or you struggle to stop your upper chest from moving, you would benefit from retraining your breathing habits. How we breathe 20,000+ times a day matters more than we were ever taught.

I love this hairstyle, more ‘undone’ than the Hollywood wave but it’s very wearable and looks gorgeous. Again, clip-in extensions can help with length and thickness if you don’t quite have enough hair to create this look. The make-up is glowy and bronzed - a very modern bridal look using neutral tones which are wearable colours for most. Added glamour can be achieved with strip lashes or individual clusters that accentuate the eyes adding extra drama.

Meet the expert: Alison Morris is the founder of Alison Rose Exquisite Hair based in Buckinghamshire.

Alison says: Made in Chelsea star Sophie Habboo looked beautiful as she paired her Hollywood glam hairstyle which consisted of a bouncy blow dry with a short white veil for her wedding to fellow cast member Jamie Laing. Sophie is blessed with thick hair but those with finer hair looking for a similar look for their special day should consider hair extensions which are a great option. Whether you are looking for a bit of volume or adding some extra length, it's all possible.
