Izzy and Andrew started as friends, but their bond grew until they realised they were perfect for each other

Izzy and Andrew first laid eyes on each other at work.

“We share a similar sense of humour and a love for food, so we got on straight away,” says Izzy. “We became friends while working in a hotel and eventually moved to work in the same restaurant where we finally got together!”

Andrew proposed to Izzy at Wells-Next-The-Sea beach in early 2021. “We own a pub, so during lockdown, as we couldn’t work, we had a lot of free time, so we spent a lot of it walking along the beach,” shares the bride. “The entire beach was empty on the day Andrew proposed. It was just the two of us and our dog Franco on a sunny, chilly day.”

Here the bride shares some of her favourite moments from their big day...

As soon as we saw Barn Drift, we knew it was the right place for us. We loved that we could hire the venue for a longer period so we wouldn’t have to rush the next morning to pack everything away, and the views were stunning.

Our cake from The Welly Boot Bakery was three tiers and made up of red velvet, chocolate and lemon.

Emma from Bayfield Catering provided our canapés and sitdown food. Emma and her staff went above and beyond to make sure all our guests had everything they wanted. The food was amazing, especially the canapés!

We kept the décor in the hangar simple, with an arch at the end of the aisle. This was kept simple so that it could be easily moved out of the way ready for the evening party. For our champagne reception, we moved into the house and made use of the gorgeous dining room. It had large bifold doors, and we were lucky enough with the weather to have them open.

Andrew and I chose a white, gold and dark green theme. We opted for wine bottles, spray painted gold, with green candles and flower arrangements as our centrepieces. We also had gold cutlery, charger plates and glasses with gold rims.

In the evening, we had a neon sign, a dancefloor and draping across the ceiling.

I wore a Madi Lane dress from City Brides Norwich for the main part of the day and changed into a Hope & Ivy gown for the evening. My hair was styled with a green velvet ribbon to match the bridesmaids’ dresses. My main dress was covered in sequins, it wasn’t what I expected to wear, but as soon as I put it on, I loved it.

We had a band called Bear Club perform in the evening, which everyone loved. They played a great mix of music and interacted with all of our guests!

The weather during the day was amazing, which meant our champagne reception could happen in the dining area with the bifold doors open. Everyone had plenty of space to move around and mix and it was so lovely to see everyone together.

We ended up moving house five days after our wedding, so we’ve delayed our honeymoon for now.
