FIVE MINUTES WITH…

Located in Nottingham, Jools Wedding Celebrant works with couples to bring their dream ceremony to life. We caught up with the owner Julia Gaunt to discover more about the company.

Why did you start the company? I’m very confident, organised, creative and have greate speaking and listening skills. I felt that I could use these skills and the things I enjoy doing in another way, which led me to become a wedding celebrant.

What does a celebrant offer? A celebrant ceremony is a beautiful service created by the couple and a celebrant who will tell every love story from the beginning to the present day. Couples can create their unique vows and add music, poems and funny stories – anything is possible! It can be as short or as long as you wish, and friends and family can also participate. Celebrant-led ceremonies can take place in most areas no matter if they’re licensed for civil ceremonies or not, including a woodland, beach, garden or hotel. If you wish the wedding to be legal, you must make an appointment at the registrar’s office and go through the formalities – the legal part is very brief.

What is your top tip for finding the perfect supplier? Wedding fayres are a great place to meet suppliers and celebrants to chat through your ideas – never be afraid the experts questions. Look through this wonderful magazine for up-and-coming fayres, maybe I will see you there!
