These lovebirds were both travelling when they first met on the east coast of Australia. Ryan was walking with a friend down the street when Kerry and her two friends asked him to take a picture. He thought Kerry was super cute and snapped a selfie of him with his friend in addition to taking photos of the girls. The pair exchanged a few words but then went about their separate ways. After flying to New Zealand, Ryan had the strangest feeling that he wasn’t where he was supposed to be. He had never felt anything like it, but it was like the universe told him he belonged back in Australia. On a whim, having spent less than 24 hours in New Zealand, he cancelled all his plans and flew back to Australia. It just so happened that he bumped into Kerry 200 miles from where they initially met and they hit if off – the rest is history!

Ryan proposed in September 2020 in Newquay, and the couple planned their dream day together.

Here, Kerry shares details about the wedding...

Our goal was to have a great party for everyone to meet and celebrate after Covid had stopped so many family gatherings.

We loved that we could have our whole wedding in one location at Crown Hall Farm, which offers a pretty outdoor setting as well as an indoor space in case of bad weather.

The venue’s owners offered a flexible service and advice from day one. They made the planning process much easier.

We had round tables with white tablecloths provided by the venue for our wedding breakfast as well as a rectangular top table.

I loved our flower centrepieces and bouquets by Stephanies Flowers & Gifts. The blooms featured a mixture of white roses, eucalyptus, thistles and a small amount of pampas grass.

Our table plan was created by The Reverie Events UK, and each table was named after places we had visited together on a two-month road trip around Australia. The team also provided dusty blue table runners, white napkins and a white postbox for wedding cards.

The menu was a crowd-pleaser with soup to start, chicken for main and a cheesecake for dessert.

The venue provided the catering options, which were delicious!

After dinner, a DJ provided by Crown Hall Farm got the party started – the dancefloor never looked empty!

We both felt so excited and happy that the day was final here!

Our friend John conducted the ceremony, and he did a wonderful job.

It rained at one point on the day but then the sun came out and a double rainbow appeared.

I was emotional walking down the aisle and asked my dad to tell me a joke. He relied with, “My obese parrot died today, mind you it’s a huge weight off my shoulders.” The silly joke make me laugh away the tears.

It sounds cliche but everyone who came made our day extra special! We had some loved ones from the US, Philippines, Australia, The Netherlands and Ireland.

We went to Tanzania for three weeks for our honeymoon. We went on a safari, climbed Kilimanjaro and finished with a few days relaxing on a beach in Zanzibar – it was the most amazing trip!
