REAL WEDDINGS Beautifully boho Amy and Mike had a stunning wedding at Brook Farm in Cuffley

Amy and Mike first met 15 years ago at a bar after being introduced by mutual friends. Even though the pair enjoyed each other’s company, the timing wasn’t quite right and they didn’t get together until around six years ago. Throughout the years, the couple has created many memorable moments and even have a beautiful son called Raphy.

Mike popped the question at home while the family of three were cuddling on the sofa. He says, “It just felt like a lovely moment to propose, plus I wanted our son to be a part of such an important moment. I got him to give the ring to his mum while I asked Amy to marry me – not the most the romantic scene, but right for us.”

Here Mike shares details about their special day…

We wanted an unforgettable party where our loved ones had a fantastic time celebrating with us.

We opted for pink, lilac and cream flowers in a wild and loose style. We had bud vases with wildflowers inside and pampas grass in macrame jars for our centrepieces.

The bride’s gown was from Grace Loves Lace; she loved how relaxed and floaty the dress was. Plus, it was comfortable to wear and matched our boho vibe. I wore a powder blue tailor-made suit with a champagne-coloured tie.

The groomsmen wore stone-coloured suits while the bridesmaids wore floorlength chiffon dresses.

Our cake featured dried edible wildflowers. We were so happy and a little overwhelmed when we stood back and took the venue in – we didn’t want the day to end.

Everyone commented on the food, especially the burger sliders and southern fried chicken in the evening. To keep guests entertained, we had a saxophonist who played during the drinks reception and gave the day a festival feel – our guests loved him!

RM Event Solutions made the day extra special; the music made the party and kept everyone on the dancefloor. We enjoyed seeing all the guests perform the electric slide. Nadia, the wedding planner, was excellent at ensuring the day went to plan. She couldn’t do enough for us and allowed us to enjoy the day more.
