Behind The Lens

Katie from KEM Radford Photography has had a busy few months; she was a finalist at both The Welsh National Wedding Awards and The 5th Welsh Wedding Awards 2023 and recently won ‘The Most Trusted Wedding Photographer & Customer Service Excellence Award for South Wales’ at the Global Wedding Awards. If that wasn’t impressive enough, she’s also just been accepted into The Wedding Guild of Wales – congratulations!

Katie tells us: “I adore taking wedding photos, and I think it shows. I have a creative and romantic style that focuses on the use of natural light and shadows. I have been developing my skills for more than 12 years and have had the honour of being a part of more than 400 weddings. I want to capture every beautiful instant between the two of you, and together we’ll create portraits that are full of life and un-posed. I like to keep it relaxed, fun and encourage laughter.”

Mercure Holland House Hotel & Spa Cardiff (www.all.accor.com) has been revealed as Wales’ top spa, according to research revealed by spa experience and booking agency Spabreaks.com. The four-star wedding venue is situated in Wales’ vibrant capital city of Cardiff and boasts a relaxed atmosphere, an 18-metre swimming pool, steam room, Jacuzzi and a fully-functioning gym.

ECO-CONSCIOUS

Palé Hall received Wales’ first Green Michelin Star back in 2021 and is committed to sustainability, boasting a completely carbon-neutral source of electricity produced from the on-site hydroelectric generating plant, as well as incorporating seasonal and locally-sourced produce throughout its menu.

Head chef Gareth Stevenson uses his vision, creativity and skill to create new dishes using produce from Pale Hall’s grounds and the surrounding area. Guests can choose from decadent five or eight-course menus developed and inspired by the Welsh countryside. The menus feature roasted barbary duck with carrot and quince vinegar, roast line caught pollock with barbeque kale and glazed celeriac and rhubarb or a trio of artisan cheeses with pale orchard chutney and apple Membrillo, made from Palé Hall’s orchard Bramley apples.
