This West Sussex-based, countryside wedding venue offers stylish wedding function rooms, a farm house-style restaurant, health club, swimming pool and beauty salon. The venue is set in 247 acres of treelined Sussex countryside and is home to 27 holes of golf, two lakes, a 26-bedroom hotel and seven self-catering lodges.

The existing club house and Hotel is part of the original charm and character of the 1884 farm buildings. The new sections have been carefully constructed to match the original brickwork, while dark grey window frames and panoramic views over the course add to that contemporary look, much sought after in modern buildings.

Cottesmore can host civil ceremonies both indoors in the oak-beamed Barn Room, and al fresco on the immaculate wedding ceremony lawn.

Nestled in an idyllic location it offers you and your guests peace, tranquillity and romance. Both options have a capacity of 150.

The Celebrations

The Challis Suite, Buchan Suite and Barn Room can all host up to 150 loved ones for a wedding breakfast and up to 200 for the evening do. Their connected, flexible and multi-functional layout allows for a more personal and bespoke celebration. Ambient, colour-themed lighting along with Bose and SONOS sound systems ensure maximum impact.

Full of natural daylight, floor-to-ceiling windows overlook the French-style courtyard with its ornate fountain, pretty pots and planters. Meanwhile, charming antler chandeliers adorn the exposed beams and the marble-topped bar offers an impressive feature. Not only that, it’s fully-stocked with the latest draught beers, wines and spirits.

The venue offers a complimentary honeymoon room for the wedding night and a free menu tasting.

What makes Tilgate Park special is its 200 acres of rural bliss that acts as a spectacular backdrop of natural décor and landscape for your big day. The changing seasons all have something to offer here. There’s even a golf course on site, while adrenaline seekers can enjoy tree-top adventures and forest segways provided by Go Ape.

Ceremonies take place in the Wedding Garden with space for 100 loved ones. As you step into this walled garden, the aisle leads you into what feels like a secret space, where you’re surrounded by shrubs and flower beds, luscious green lawns and a characterful wooden arbour.

The Barn offers space for 80 seated and 100 standing guests to witness you say your vows. It’s a versatile space and the perfect solution if the weather is less favourable.

The Celebrations

Following the ceremony, a 40-metre long pergola adorned in wisteria, roses, clematis and grape vines leads you through to the Arena for your wedding breakfast and evening reception, where you can be joined by 150 to 200 loved ones. Here, you’ll find the venue’s large marquee, fullylined with ivory drapes and lit by chandeliers and hundreds of fairylights. The area around it measures more than 1,000 square metres, so there’s ample room for even more entertainment like giant garden games and a mobile bar or caterer.

Alternatively, The Barn can also play host to your celebrations with 80 seated and 150 standing with the additional enclosed garden. It’s equipped with tables, chairs, a kitchenette and its own toilet facilities.

When it comes to dining, you can book a spit roast from The Walled Garden Café, an American-themed meal from Smith and Western restaurant or an all-vegan menu from the Lakeside Café. That being said, you’re still welcome to bring your own caterer in if you prefer.
