ECO-CHIC

A sustainable wedding is less to do with the look and more to do with the ethos behind it. But that doesn’t mean it can’t look as stunning as it is kind. Think about switching core elements to eco-friendly alternatives. Use dried or locally-grown flowers, hire props rather than buying, use recycled and recyclable or plantable stationery, and style it all out with handmade, upcycled elements from local suppliers such as bunting, nontoxic candles and biodegradable confetti.

Maximalist

The maximalist style, or as we like to think of it, go big or go home, is a celebration of flamboyance, opulence and excess. Throw in a bit of everything, have fun and go for it!

This year more than any other we can think of, the wedding industry has fallen head over heels for the Pantone Colour of the Year. With jewel tones already proving popular, offering a boost to the more traditional pastels, it wasn’t too much of a stretch. Pair Viva Magenta with blush for the ultimate modern yet timeless treat.

A festival vibe is the ultimate expression of you. All bets are off and fusty old traditions are thrown out of the window. Consider hosting your celebrations in the great outdoors à la your favourite summer music festivals, and look for tipis or sailcloth tents for cover. Style with as much vibrant colour as possible and bags of fresh features such as streamers, bunting, disco balls, hay bales, barrels, wooden signage and festoon lighting.
