To find out more and book an appointment head over to www.bellissima-brides.co.uk HOW BLOOMIN’ KIND New Liverpool-based floristry business Somerset Blooms was set up by Nathalie Somerset earlier this year, adopting environmentally friendly working practices. “I’m creative with how I run the company and always look for new ways to add to my eco promise. I source alternatives to polyribbon, wet foam and single-use plastics and use ribbon crafted from old plastic bottles, natural and earth-friendly agra wool and biodegradable plastics. I even grow some of the flowers myself,” she tells us. Nathalie’s most recent eco action is delivering flowers in her local area by bicyle. Bright pink with a basket on the front, its super-girly and a win win as she gets her daily dose of exercise while she works! Mainly though, it’s because no fuel is used in the process.
Nathalie continues, “There’s so much more businesses can do to become more eco-conscious, they just need to be creative and think outside the box. My customers enjoy the luxury of my flowers alongside the feel-good factor knowing they don’t come at a price to the planet.” Somerset Blooms also undertakes bespoke design work for weddings so to find out more head over to https://somersetblooms.co.uk

Chester Zoo has released a set of artist’s impressions providing the first glimpse of the wildlife charity’s new 200-capacity wedding venue. The images show the building’s bright and spacious interiors, which feature patterns and textures drawing inspiration from the zoo’s mission to prevent the extinction of endangered species. Featuring an impressive gated entrance, the building will have its own large private courtyard, exposed brick walls, vaulted rafters and large windows overlooking the botanical gardens, as well as a host of preserved historical features.
The luxury space is an extension of an existing Grade II listed stable block that has stood at the heart of the 128-acre zoo since it opened in 1931. The original structures were once home to some of the attraction’s first animals such as lions, bears and chimpanzees. Zoo conservationists say they plan to retain the rich history and character of the building, while renovating and extending some areas using sustainably-sourced, wildlife-friendly materials.
Jamie Christon, CEO at Chester Zoo says, “While we have for some time offered an intimate wedding space for 50 guests at The Oakfield gastropub, we’re frequently asked if we can accommodate larger scale events. That’s why we’re really excited to begin welcoming guests to this incredible new venue from early next year.” The grand opening of The Square is planned for spring 2023 and wedding dates are still available. The main event room is expected to have a capacity of 200, while reception and breakout rooms bring the total capacity of the building to 380.
