Hodsock Priory was lovingly restored in 1829 and has been the home to the Buchanan family for nine generations. Down the sweeping driveway, couples will approach the impressive archway of Nottinghamshire’s last remaining Grade I listed Tudor Gatehouse. Beautiful gardens surround the property, and guests love using the terrace for drink receptions and taking photos by the lake, which is complete with a rowing boat.

Guests will arrive in the oak Panelled Hall after entering the property, a stunning location for traditional, contemporary and informal ceremonies with 100 people. The warm and welcoming room is adorned with family portraits, elegant wallpaper, high windows with framed views and modern touches to accompany the original features. Or why not tie the knot in the Buchanan Hall, which features a neutral colour palette and bay window with views of the historic gatehouse? For those looking to exchange vows outside, the romantic Georgian gazebo is situated in the gardens and will look beautiful in photographs.

There’s no better space for small and intimate weddings than the light and airy Ante Room or the traditional Library, which overlooks the gardens and lake.

Hodsock Priory has been hosting spectacular parties for centuries, and the Pavilion is the perfect space for wedding breakfasts with 130 people and evening receptions with 240.

Situated in rural surroundings in the south Northamptonshire countryside, Crockwell Farm is the perfect setting for weddings with many photographic backdrops, including the beautiful gardens.

The property features three ceremony spaces, including the original 17th-century stone-vaulted barn, which has a capacity of 86 people and features oak beams and high ceilings. For larger nuptials, the internal starlit marquee can fit 200 loved ones and is a warm location no matter the weather. The outside Orchard Pavilion is a wonderful option for the “I dos” with 200 guests in the warmer months. The newly refurbished rustic bar features a fireplace and cosy areas, making it the perfect backdrop for inside drinks receptions in winter.

Receptions occur in either the barn for intimate celebrations or in the marquee, where 200 guests can dance the night away.

When couples book the property, they’ll each receive exclusive use of the venue from the afternoon before the wedding until midday the day after. Each pair will be invited to a taster evening around a year before the special event, which is an excellent opportunity to try dishes from the caterers, Ross & Ross Events and the house wines.

THE CITY ROOMS

Situated in the heart of Leicester City Centre, The City Rooms is a Georgian venue that makes the perfect backdrop to any wedding. Built in 1792 and designed by John Johnson, the Grade I listed building still has many original features, including the Roman Doric columns that support the porch-way entrance.

Ceremonies can occur in three locations at the venue. The Ballroom can host 200 people for ceremonies and receptions and features high ceilings, grand chandeliers and large windows.

The Dining Room provides plenty of natural daylight for smaller celebrations and is located on the ground floor, conveniently next to a bar. This area is perfect for ceremonies for 80 guests, drinks receptions for 100 and wedding breakfasts for 60. Or why not opt for The Drawing Room, which can fit 60 people for the vows and 35 for wedding breakfasts?

Situated in Lincolnshire, Hemswell Court is a Georgian-style building full of character and charm.

Surrounded by tranquil gardens and approached through a beautiful tree-lined avenue, the venue features 25 en suite bedrooms, an impressive collection of antique furniture, two large function rooms and a grand entrance hall with a mini-grand piano.

The prestigious ex-RAF officer’s mess stands proudly in the superb and spacious grounds with various plants, trees and flowers surrounding the building. The Georgian-sash windows look out onto the turning circle and bandstand with the seasonal wisteria playing host to a grand entrance.

The private drawing room is an elegant space that can accommodate 85 people for ceremonies and 32 for receptions. The space features high ceilings, a neutral toned colour scheme and a garden view.
