Chloe and Conor met at school 10 years ago and became good friends which eventually turned into something more. “We never thought that our relationship would become as serious as it did,” the couple tells us.

They became engaged when Conor proposed in Tenby, Wales. “We had booked a weekend away and I had given up on waiting for a ring by this stage!” Chloe explains. “I was getting annoyed with Conor because I was five months pregnant and feeling sick, and he was making me walk further up a peak to admire the view. Once we reached the top, we sat on a bench for ages and he kept fidgeting so I was about to leave to walk to the car when he suddenly got down on one knee and proposed to me! It was a complete surprise and this location will always be a special place for us - we can’t wait to take our little boy there!”

Here, Chloe tells us about their beautiful barn wedding at Milton End Farm decorated with a sophisticated white and silver theme...

The venue is owned by a friend’s family and I always knew that I wanted to get married in a barn. It wasn’t too far from home and when we went to view it, it was still a work in progress but we both fell in love with it and knew that we had to get married there. Everything about the barn is beautiful and timeless.

I loved getting ready on the morning of the wedding and having my hair and make-up done.

Cheers! Spending the wedding morning with my best girls was a wonderful memory that I’ll never forget. My grandad, who is 90 years of age, walked me down the aisle with me carrying our baby son which was a memory that I’ll treasure forever.

While we didn’t have a table plan because of hosting a small, intimate wedding with six tables, our statement centrepieces were large silver candelabras draped with white flowers and foliage to match my bouquet and the rest of our floral arrangements. We numbered our tables one to six using wooden designs and our place names were acrylic hexagon shapes with each name printed on that coordinated with the personalised cake topper. I chose white flower varieties mixed with foliage. Pampas grass was incorporated into some of the displays and we had gypsophila draped from the beams and also on the chairs lining the aisle.

Our favours were glass bottles filled with glittery pear drop-flavoured gin.

“Conor arrived on the day in his white Volkswagen Polo which was styled with bows and parked pride of place!” - Chloe and Conor

The train on my dress was trimmed with lace so I chose a Cathedral-length veil with a similar lace design.

Our delicious cake was made by my bridesmaid’s mum, Karen, who was also a wedding guest. We chose a three-tier naked cake with Victoria sponge, chocolate and lemon and blackcurrant-flavoured layers finished with white buttercream icing. It was decorated with flowers and a personalised topper. I kept my accessories to a minimum and just wore a pair of diamond and pearl earrings to complement my new diamond-encrusted wedding band that matched my engagement ring.

We had a three-course meal with the starter and the main course enjoyed seated followed by the dessert canapés served outside. Our guests loved the profiteroles and chocolate-covered strawberries. I wore an ivory figure-hugging dress that I had altered. It featured lace and crystals around the corset and a stunning low back. I didn’t think that I would choose a dress like this but when I tried it on, I felt like a bride.

Our groomsmen had matching suits to Conor’s but instead of wearing a waistcoat, they had black braces so that Conor stood out.

I finished my look with a pair of champagnecoloured, pearl-encrusted sandals. Conor wore a dark-grey slim-fit, three-piece suit teamed with a black pocket watch and bow tie, a white shirt and a pair of black shoes.

Our maid-of-honour did a presentation with messages from loved ones, some of who were unable to attend. This also included drone footage of the day which I was unaware was taken that was brilliant! Because of the restrictions in place at the time of our wedding, we didn’t book any live entertainment. Everyone was well acquainted with one another and so happy to be out that they mingled in the courtyard enjoying an al fresco drinks reception with a sound system providing the music which made our day feel even more intimate. We did perform our first dance which felt magical.

We had three bridesmaids and my maid-of-honour who all wore the same blush pink dresses featuring a cowl neck - they all looked so beautiful!

The speeches given by our best man, Conor’s father and my grandmother were wonderful.
