beautifulBLOOMING Rose and Ndu’s floral-themed wedding at Froyle Park was full of memorable moments

Rose and Ndu first met in London more than 10 years ago. While out with a mutual friend, the pair started talking and it turned out that Rose was about to start the same university as Ndu. They became good friends in the weeks leading up to her arrival, which ended up blossoming into a relationship. Rose says, “I was attracted to Ndu’s charm, genuine nature and humour while he loved my intelligence, beauty, and free-spirited demeanour.” She adds, “It felt as though we’d known each other forever!”

During a trip to Venice, the same destination as their first holiday together, Ndu surprised Rose with a stay on a private Island called Isola Della Rosa. During a candlelit dinner overlooking the sunset and city, Ndu popped the question and of course she said yes!

Here Rose shares details about their special day...

We wanted a travel-themed wedding as going abroad would have been unrealistic with our number of guests. A friend told us about Froyle Park and we knew it would be perfect for our day.

We had to push our wedding back to 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We’d always hoped for good weather in August to use the dome outside for our ceremony. It rained almost all afternoon, but the sun appeared for much of the ceremony – definitely divine intervention!

King Solomon’s Catering created a mixture of Nigerian and Jamaican cuisine for guests to enjoy. A choir sung a range of popular songs after the ceremony.

The bridesmaids wore blush maxi dresses.

We had a four-tiered cake with beautiful flowers cascading down.

Ndu wore a blue tuxedo with a black bow tie, while the groomsmen wore grey suits with champagne ties. We loved having all our loved ones together after being apart for so long.

The speeches stood out to us both; everybody was either in fits of laughter or handing tissues around to dry tears.

Ndu’s cousin Yahael was our master of ceremonies; he brought incredible laughter to the day and got everyone involved in the reception. We had a magical first dance to Mirrors by Justin Timberlake.
