Heather and Dave met through a mutual friend. “We liked similar things and hit it off right away,” says Heather. “Dave proposed one December. He had put a selection of rings on hold at a jeweller and took me to see them the day after. It was a complete surprise.”

Here the bride shares some of her favourite moments from their big day...

We chose to tie the knot at The Gibbon Bridge Hotel, which was perfect. We got married 22 years after our first date.

For our favours, we gave our guests lottery cards and Cancer Research pins.

Champagne Cakes in Preston provided our cake. Dave and I chose a navy and pink theme with lots of candles and floral arrangements everywhere.

Our beautiful flowers were from Buds and Bloom.

I chose an Anna Sorrano gown and accessorised it with a Bolero jacket and jewellery from Peacock & May.

Dave wore a stylish suit from Cosgroves.

To keep our guests entertained, we had a pianist perform during the meal.

We felt so happy and truly blessed. Everything was special, and we couldn’t fault a thing. The bridesmaids and flowergirls opted for navy dresses.

A funny moment was how slow the flowergirls walked down the aisle.

Everyone really enjoyed the day. We had a small wedding with close family and special friends.
