Local photographers reveal some of their favourite weddings from 2021

Ithink we can all agree that 2021 was a strange year for weddings. With so much uncertainty and changing restrictions, we’ve seen a mixture of micro and large celebrations. As a send-off to 2021, we’ve asked local photographers to send in some of their favourite wedding pictures from last year.

“This image was taken on a jetty at Briery Wood Country House Hotel & Restaurant. I love how moody it was and that you can see the rain hitting the water.” – Adam Murray from AJ Photography.

“Emma and Rob had a small wedding with just 14 people there, and when I took them away for some photos together, I asked them what was their favourite joke. Rob whispered to Emma, and said he could only think of rude ones and this was their reaction.” – Christina Davies from Fish 2 Photography.

“The couple had their traditional Muslim wedding ceremony in a tipi in the middle of a field in Yorkshire. I loved that the bride wore trainers and how the couple had a carefree approach to their day.” – Tanya Weekes.

“This was taken on a hot, sunny bank holiday Monday. The place was so busy that it took some work to get photos without other people in, and I can’t count how many times the bride and groom were stopped and congratulated.” – Marina from Marina Walker Photo.

“Catrin and Charlie got married in August last year. They were one of the few people who had actually planned to get married in 2021. The day had been grey and a bit rainy, and we decided to head to Worden Park on the way to the venue to capture a few photos. We saw these wildflowers, and I captured this super cute moment between them.” – Christina from Fish 2 Photography.

“This image was from my first wedding. I always like to try new ideas, and I think this picture shows that off perfectly.” – Adam from AJ Photography.

“I love this image taken at King Street Townhouse because it epitomises happiness in one image .” – Katie from DaisyBell Photography.

“Sophia and Dean were married at a candlelit Mottram Hall Hotel in Cheshire. Although I have chosen a shot from outside there were so many picture-perfect spots, which is one of the things I loved about this venue.” – Tanya Weekes.

“This wedding was at a church in Ormskirk. The bride and groom wanted some photos at one of the church doors, just after the ceremony. The wind blew the veil, and I snuck underneath for a few shots.” – Marina Walker from Marina Walker Photo.

“This image is one of my absolute favourites from 2021. It really captures the excitement in Stephanie’s face, along with the slight nerves of her handsome dad.” – Katie from DaisyBell Photography. “I love this image from Hannah and Harry’s wedding because of the memory rather than a picture-perfect photo. They were my first wedding after the restrictions lifted in May last year, and one thing I love at weddings is feeling part of the day. This is the send off I got when I said I was leaving. I got cheered, waved and rushed at by the groom.” – Christina from Fish 2 Photography.

“I enjoyed capturing this night shot with the newlyweds where they had tied the knot earlier that day.” – Tiffany from Tiffany LS Photography.

“I shot this photo at the stunning Wyresdale Park, and although I have worked there before, this time I discovered new places to take photos. I love this one of the bride and groom standing next to an amazing palm tree.” – Marina from Marina Walker Photo.

“I loved how intimate Nieves and Sisco’s wedding was and how carefree and relaxed the couple were.” – Tanya Weekes.
