Our local expert offers advice on how to look your big-day best

A SMOOTH COMPLEXION Q – How do I get my skin looking its best in the run-up to my big day?

I’m a fi rm believer that what you put into your body shows on the outside, so good skin comes from within! Here are some of my top tips for creating a fl awless look: ♥ Eat well – lots of greens and raw vegetables. ♥ Regular exercise, the type that gets you really sweaty, it’s great for your complexion, and your pores will love you for it. ♥ Drink plenty of water! Try to avoid or reduce alcohol at least a week before the wedding as it dehydrates the skin. ♥ Sleep as much as you can in the run-up. No matter how many magic eye potions and masks you use, lack of sleep always shows! If you wake up with puffy eyes on the day, pop eye masks on, or simply hold a couple of cold teaspoons under your eyes for a minute or two. ♥ Exfoliate a couple of times each week. My favourite rinse-off product is the Sisley Buff and Wash Facial Gel.

You can use toners too, such as the Pixi Glow Tonic. For extremely sensitive skin, just use a fl annel or muslin cloth to massage whilst cleansing. ♥ Weekly face masks will hydrate, fi rm and draw out impurities. ♥ For a perfect base, spritz LA Roche Posay Thermal Spring

Water before applying a light moisturiser. Followed by a good primer. My favourites are Emma Hardie Protect and

Prime for normal to dry skin, Bobbi Brown’s Primer Plus

Production for normal skin types and By Terry Hyaluronic

Hydra Primer for oily complexions. ♥ My go-to foundations are Nars Sheer Glow and

By Terry Cover-Expert. Work from the centre of your face outwards and use a buffi ng brush to ensure an even fi nish. Conceal in areas where needed and set with a colourless powder such as the By Terry Hydra Powder or a setting spray.
