Emily and Lloyd danced the night away with friends and family at Llanerch Vineyard

Emily and Lloyd met while working at a shop 10 years ago. “I was attracted to his smile and funny sense of humour,” says Emily. “He proposed in Rhossili at the Worms Head on 20th October, 2018. Lloyd pretended he wanted to take a picture, and I was panicking saying I could see the sea coming in and the waves were getting closer. He got down on one knee and asked the question. I literally burst out laughing and forgot to say yes! I eventually did, looked at the ring on my fi nger, grabbed my things and shouted for the dog to come quickly and left Lloyd to get the camera and everything else. The lifeguards were so concerned that they raised the alarm and were shouting over the tannoy for us to come back to land. We made it back to strangers cheering and clapping. We had sandwiches and champagne on dry land and enjoyed the view. It was a lovely surprise even though I knew Lloyd was up to something as he kept talking about the sandwiches all week and tidying the house!”

Here the bride shares some of her favourite moments from their big day...

Llanerch Vineyard was the only venue we looked at. My mum and I were there having a drink, and I said I liked it, so we messaged the wedding coordination to see if I could look around, and she was available then and there. It’s a beautiful setting and close to where we lived. She showed us the marquee, and I fell in love. It was empty, so a real blank canvas, but I just loved the light, airy feel. There were also fairylights up, and my mum said that I had once told her I wanted them at my wedding, so it felt meant to be. I took Lloyd to see it, and he agreed it was perfect for us.

The table plan was a large mirror that my cousin decorated. We used Welsh numbers as table names in wood and silver. Flowers mean so much to me, and they were the main decorative touch. We chose gorgeous white and pink arrangements from Catherine Gray Flowers.

We decided to have a naked cake with a few flowers. It was four layers and made up of Victoria sponge, lemon, Nutella, chocolate, peaches and champagne.

Lloyd and the groomsmen chose their suits from Hawkes Bespoke Outfitters in Cardiff.

I chose a Paloma Blanca design from Laura May Bridal. I thought I’d have a big princess gown, but looking back, it wasn’t me. I loved the plain, simple look of my dress and accessorised with earrings, a bracelet, a veil and my nan’s wedding ring.

The bridesmaids opted for pink True Bride gowns from Laura May Bridal. It was a simple design with a low back that matched my dress. We had the best band called 24K! They had everyone on the dancefloor all night, and they partied with us, which was amazing.

My favourite moment was getting ready with my bridesmaids and parents. Lloyd also enjoyed his time with the groomsmen and his dad. My uncle bought them all McDonald’s breakfast, and they went to the local pub.

It was amazing coming back from having our photographs taken to see everyone sat in the sunshine enjoying the views, music and each other’s company. My sister said she was disappointed to see us because she knew that the day would soon be over! Having my grampy read in the church was so special to us and something we’ll always remember. All the suppliers we used were amazing and made our day perfect. Our parents, bridesmaids and the groomsmen were all so supportive, from organising the hen and stag parties to being there for us on the day.

At the end of the night, when the band had left, we all wanted the party to carry on, so we went outside, stood on the benches and sang our hearts out. Singing at the top of our voices was a memory we won’t forget, and we love watching the video back. For our honeymoon, we went to Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast and had the best time ever! We both planned the trip and really enjoyed our time together. It was two weeks of Italian food, drinks and lovely scenery.
