GET ME TO THE CHURCH

Surrey and Sussex Trikes is a new business set up in August 2021 by Martin Ordish and his partner Debbie. Martin tells us: “We both have a background in the NHS, but I decided to leave to pursue my dream of running a trike company as I knew how amazing these machines were. It gives you the comfort of a car with the freedom of a motorbike. What’s not to like?

“We purchased Ike the Trike from a UK dealer, the trike is custom-made by a German company called Rewaco. It’s comfortable with seatbelts and individuallyheated seats.

“We undertake weddings, civil ceremonies and funerals if asked. We’re currently expanding to do tours of Surrey, Sussex and the home counties, although we can operate anywhere in the UK. There are very few other companies providing a tour service, but I believe we’re the only one specialising in weddings.”

Visit www.surreyandsussextrikes.co.uk for more info. Ryan Cox Photography, who has been capturing weddings for more than 20 years, has recently moved to Surrey. We spoke to Ryan to find out more about his business: “I had an established wedding and portrait business in the South East of Kent until I moved to Cranleigh, Surrey, following my partner starting a new job. I still travel back to Kent for weddings as I’m continually recommended via word of mouth, but I travel throughout the UK and globally for my work, so being more central than I was before is a big positive for me.

“My work is a documentary style, but I’m always looking to create a fashionable, contemporary style when the opportunity arises. I work closely with my couples to create timeless images and stay away from fad editing, which will outdate very quickly. I always provide my couples with a full set of colour and black and white images, so they have a choice to suit their preferences.”

FLY AWAY WITH ME

As demand for holidays around the world returns, luxury travel firm Kuoni has returned to Guildford’s High Street after a two-year closure. The store, which opened in October 2011, is in a prime location on the cobbled high street, but has been closed since the beginning of the pandemic when international travel was shut down.

Honeymoons and other trips to celebrate special occasions are in demand, according to store manager, Samantha Young. She tells us: “There’s clear space in the Guildford market for us to thrive again, and we’re already seeing appointment bookings for people who want to come in and talk to us about their next big trip. We’re all about the human touch, giving real advice, helping people with their travel plans and making sure that we look after people from the time they book to arriving back home. The past two years has reminded people that if anything happens in the world, they want real travel experts to talk to who can help amend their plans and that’s something you can’t get online.”
