Set on a working farm in the West Sussex countryside, Southend Barn has been lovingly restored with rustic charm and romantic touches. There’s ample outdoor space here with a picturesque courtyard that lies at the heart of the venue, with its luscious lawn and Cornish-slate patio – ideal for photographs and mingling over drinks and canapés. Its sumptuous sofas, firepit, lanterns and baskets of blankets make this a popular place to congregate for guests of all ages.

There’s also the Milking Parlour, which can be used either as the groom’s quarters or for the bride and her bride tribe to get ready pre-ceremony. Newlyweds can also use it for a little privacy throughout the day and you’re welcome to stay the night if you wish. THE “I DOS”

❤ The Dairy Barn (120 guests) is licensed for ceremonies. With a wonderful sweeping 22-metre aisle, exposed wooden beams and benches made of sweet chestnut it can also be utilised after the “I dos” for a drinks reception or as an entertainment room for children. ❤ The Secret Garden (100 guests) is a hidden gem that features a 50foot aisle set amidst peaceful scenery. Taking inspiration from the Dutch term gezellig, the garden is a celebration of togetherness, comfort and enjoyment.

TIME TO CELEBRATE ❤ The Threshing Barn (120 dining, 200 evening reception guests) is a 200-year-old structure that radiates rustic charm with authentic wood beams and wrought iron chandeliers. With plenty of space for dancing and entertaining, it still benefits from an intimate and relaxed feel, plus the vast windows lining both sides of the building allow guests to enjoy the surrounding gardens and sunsets over the South Downs.

The Library is ideal for 14 ceremony guests, then The Terrace Dining Room (40 guests) and The Terrace and main dining room (72 guests) can host your wedding breakfast in style.

Slindon House, a striking Georgian-style manor, is beautifully set within the South Downs National Park. The venue boasts an impressive entrance hall with a winding oak staircase, which leads to the double-height Grand Hall and adjoining Blue and Green Rooms. There’s also a Victorian Conservatory next to the main entrance. The grounds are extensive with an ornamental garden featuring an arbour, secret paths meandering through woodland, walled garden, and a lovingly manicured sunken lawn.

THE “I DOS”

❤ The Great Hall (120 guests) is a charming and historical space that boasts ornate ceiling plasterwork, a large Georgian fireplace, and oak

flooring. There are also a number of floor-to-ceiling mullioned windows allowing plenty of natural light to flood in. ❤ The Blue Room (50 guests) is a beautiful double-height room decorated in Wedgewood blue with a marble Georgian fireplace, detail framed walls and polished wood flooring. A set of French doors leads to the patio area and lawn beyond.
