Local experts offer advice on how to look your big-day best A POP OF COLOUR

I’d love to incorporate some colour into my wedding dress. Do you have any ideas of how I could do this?

There are so many ways that you can incorporate colour into your wedding dress. Most gowns come in different shades such as ivory, pinks, greys, blues and blacks. We also work with one of the best companies in the UK that allow us to make custom changes to our gowns, including the colour.

If you’re after a subtle hue, most seamstresses will be able to customise a gown by adding coloured thread, beads, fabrics or even crystals to your design. We often tell our couples that with a great seamstress the only limit to customising a gown is your imagination.

We understand that some people want to add colour to remember a loved one, and so we’ve also started to embroider everything from robins to initials on dresses, veils and denim or leather jackets.

The best advice I can give to any bride-to-be is to shop around for a store that can accommodate you and who will go above and beyond to help make your dreams come true.

BABY IT’S COLD OUTSIDE

What dress style would you suggest for a winter wedding?

Gainesville by Justin-Alexander

With winter just around the corner, no doubt brides-to-be are beginning to search for inspiration to create the perfect seasonal look. Most people think you need to go for fluffy fur shawls, velvet textures and bold red colour pallets, however, in line with this year’s most popular bridal trend, we think a clean, simplistic gown is perfect for this time of the year. This blank canvas will allow you to have fun with your décor, so go wild with your styling or keep it bare with a woodland-inspired palette. We would style these gowns with a burst of colour in your flowers, bridesmaids’ dresses or even a seasonal table.
