WHAT TO EXPECT Halifax Hall was formally a Victorian Steel Baron’s Mansion and then a hall of residence for the university for more than 80 years. It has since been transformed into a stunning boutique hotel and popular wedding and event space. The garden provides a stunning backdrop for photos, as well as the perfect place to enjoy a drinks reception. To the front of the hotel, there’s a mini waterfall and pond, which can help create romantic shots of the happy couple. The driveway leading to the hotel is also nothing short of magical with the natural tunnel of trees.

TIME TO CELEBRATE! There are two ceremony rooms: the Ennis Room with a capacity of 65, named after Sheffield’s own Olympic gold medallist and University of Sheffield alumni Jessica Ennis-Hill. Secondly, the Dining Room, perfect for larger ceremonies of up to 115. This Victorian Banquet Hall is adorned with period floor-to-ceiling windows.

Drinks receptions take place in the Music Room, which is an intimate room with beautiful floor to ceiling windows and French doors leading outdoors to our terrace and gardens, making it perfect for a drinks reception in summer months. The wedding breakfasts and evening receptions take place in the Dining Room and Library.

WE LOVE… The Victorian entrance has always been a favourite with couples for confetti tosses and intimate family photos.

WHAT TO EXPECT Nestled away in the trees above Fulwood Road, Tapton Hall is a historic Grade II listed building, blending history and elegance with modern facilities. Its historic architecture provides a beautiful setting for wedding ceremonies and receptions.

TIME TO CELEBRATE! Tapton Hall has a variety of rooms of all sizes, ideal for both intimate and large ceremonies and receptions. Decorated in a classic yet stylish manner, Tapton Hall offers beautiful spaces filled with elegance and character in every room.

The Hallam Room is the largest of Tapton’s rooms, perfect for large wedding receptions and breakfasts. With a window from floor to ceiling, it provides the room with lots of natural light and stunning views of the old house and gardens. Additionally, there are beautiful fairylights built into the ceilings which provide you with the perfect fairytale feel to your wedding reception.

WE LOVE… Situated at the front of Tapton Hall, the rose garden provides a perfect backdrop for wedding photographs, drinks receptions and garden games.

It has original stained glass and oak panelling; the room is bursting with grandeur.

WE LOVE… The main outdoor ceremony area has a straight aisle leading from the hall directly to the fountain which is fabulous.

THE CHIMNEY HOUSE

WHAT TO EXPECT Perched on the edge of a historic waterway ‒ the ‘mill race’ on Kelham Island ‒ complete with kingfishers and bullrushes ‒ The Chimney House with its 93ft chimney and beautiful original redbrick is often described as iconic. Traced back to 1886, former residents include an elephant and steel rolling mill workers so it sits beautifully in a historic setting ‒ as well as being a modern and inspiring place to celebrate! The building has been restored to its former original beauty ‒ all redbrick, fireplaces and stone stairs. You’ll find leafy green living plants on every surface! TIME TO CELEBRATE! Ceremonies take place in The Meeting Room of The Chimney House but guests have access to the living room and the front room. The venue custom styles a resplendent altar with an abundance of seasonal British blooms and candles for the ceremony to take place in front of, while up to 50 guests relax on design classics including cantilever Brno chairs.

WE LOVE… The Chimney House hosts ‘wedding feasts’ rather than a typical reception ‒ which can be up to 50 guests over two feasting tables. This is also hosted in The Meeting Room which is transformed for dinner after the ceremony.

THE MOWBRAY

WHAT TO EXPECT Originally built in 1889 as a steel merchants, The Mowbray comes complete with a beautiful set of sliding factory doors and beautiful red brick architecture that sits so well against the industrial landscape. The building has historic charm complete with magnificent arched windows that allow for sensational light and atmosphere.

TIME TO CELEBRATE! Receptions take place in the main space of The Mowbray. The venue specialises in feasting and sits up to 150 guests. The reclaimed tables are laden with fresh, seasonal food straight from The Mowbray’s kitchens - where everything is made from scratch. There’s a beautiful 100-year-old mahogany drinks cabinet that forms the lavish cocktail bar where you’re served seasonal cocktails and carefully selected wines. Guests can enjoy long lazy wedding feasts before dancing till the stars come out. The venue doesn’t host ceremonies.

WE LOVE… ‘Up On The Roof’ is found on The Mowbray’s private first floor rooftop. It’s a complete hideaway escape with leafy green views over Park Wood Springs and the historic rooftops of Neepsend, complete with a rooftop bar, a British flower garden and plenty of places to relax and enjoy garden cocktails and a BBQ. You’ll also find The Cabin ‒ a secret hideaway for photos and quiet moments!
