• Scaling down furniture and fixtures creates a sense of importance for the children
• Natural features such as wood and neutral colors help enhance the children’s sense of calmness
• Accurate lighting, dimmable lighting and natural lighting are important in enhancing the children’s experience
• Acoustics should be enhanced throughout the classroom to provide reduced noise levels
• With integrated learning, movement is best within classroom; this includes desks that provide movement between lecture and team based models
• Designing flexible layouts help with mobility throughout interactions in the classroom
