Nonverbal Communication: 1. Relation-level meaning: The individuals in the photo are extremely happy to see each other. They obviously have a very strong/powerful relationship. 2. Liking: In this photo the individuals are hugging, and one of them is seen smiling. These are gestures of nonverbal communication known as liking. They are filled with joy and that can be seen with the embrace they are in and the smile on the woman’s face. 3. Power: The women display a comfort with touching each other in a close manner. They are familiar with each other and feel at ease when interacting.
Types of Nonverbal Behavior in candid photo 1. Haptic: The two girls are hugging each other. They are wrapped up in each other’s embrace. This would fall under the haptic category. This is used to communicate with touch, which the girls are doing. 2. Kinesics: This can be seen in the photo by looking at the woman’s face. Her smile is lighting up the whole picture. Her nonverbal way of communicating is shown on her face. Her eyes are closed, her mouth is round with a smile, and her face is lite up with happiness .
Analyzing: In this photo, I see a relationship of either a mother or daughter, friends, or maybe another type of relative. Yet it doesn’t matter who is who in this photo. The main focus is the gestures that are seen and the forms of nonverbal communication that is taking place. These females obviously love each other very much. Perhaps they are embracing after a long period of being separated. Or maybe the one is congratulating the other. Whatever the case may be, one thing is clear: there relationship is powerful. It doesn’t matter that you can’t hear them exchanging words. You can see their love and comfort for each other by just looking at them.
Thank you!
