To help you get started with preparing your home for sale, the Concierge team have prepared the following five tips:

START WITH A DEEP CLEAN

As obvious as it sounds, this is the best place to start. Give all the windows a clean to make them sparkle. Steam cleaning carpets and polishing floors will help the home feel fresh. A house wash will remove cobwebs, eliminate grime build up and a pressure clean of hard surfaces can make a big difference.

DECLUTTER TO CREATE SPACE

A cluttered house can make a home appear cramped, and that’s the last thing we want buyers thinking. Remove anything extra to the garage or storage so buyers can see the space not the stuff.

GIVE THE GARDEN SOME LOVE

Outdoor spaces are just as important as indoor spaces. Trim shrubs and bushes, mulch garden beds, weed and mow lawns and remove any dead or excessive pot plants. Winter can take a toll on the lawns and gardens so be sure to tend to these so they can look their best when ready to sell.

REPAIR AND RENOVATE

Winter is a great time to get those much-needed repairs and renovations done before you sell. Buyers love a home that feels fresh and well-maintained because its less work for them when they become the new owners. Work through all the odd jobs on your list, think about a fresh coat of paint, new carpet or simply upgrade the lighting.
