Hake, House of Art

Welcome to Hake, House of Art, a multidisciplinary creative space where art comes to life, breathing into our Northern Beaches community. The curators at Hake strive to exhibit the best and brightest local artists, bringing these artists out of their studios and into the public eye.

Located in Brookvale on Guringai land, the gallery was created as a space to foster creativity and host regular art exhibitions from both established and emerging artists, as well as the invitation of independent projects.

Committed to creating an environment that allows artists to grow and fl ourish in their craft, curators, Ash Holmes and Jake Elliott believe that art is meant to be shared, not hidden away in a studio.

“We believe that there is no greater feeling than seeing the work of your favourite artist on display in a gallery,“ says Ash. “Both Jake and I are making it our mission to bring these experiences to as many people as possible.”

Hake is a modern and minimalistic art gallery and private events venue that houses an array of original and oneof-a-kind artworks.

The exhibition space is a light-fi lled room that allows for natural light to fl ood in and create an atmosphere that refl ects the works on display.

HAKE works with artists who feel a sense of connection to their surroundings, an appreciation for nature, and understand, the importance of working on Indigenous land.

“We want our artists to feel supported when taking risks with their original artworks and allowing HAKE to be the vessel for their work to be held.

We foster creativity... from both established and emerging artists.

Hake’s in-house residences also offer an array of services, including art consulting, stretching and framing canvas, as well as photography and videography. •
