LETTER FROM THE HEADMASTER

As I begin my third year humbly serving the Covington Latin School community, I am honored to see the qualities of goodness, discipline, and knowledge resonate through our students and graduates, no matter what has changed in this building. In this edition of The Leader, you will see the success of our graduates as they take their education to the next level as well as the generosity of so many who directly contribute to the success of all our students.
This summer I had the honor to be part of the reunions of the classes of 1962 and 2007. The Mass in our Chapel for the Class of 1962 was my first Mass in our school’s chapel, and Father Twadell, Class of 1959, mentioned how prayer can change so much. A few weeks later, Fr. Brockmeier of the Class of 2007 said Mass for his classmates in our chapel, and as the Mass ended, the Class of 2007 was in no hurry to leave the chapel. I felt then that I would spend time each day in prayer in this special place to pray for all our students, families, alumni, and friends of Covington Latin School. The prayers of our community have sustained me through my time here and brought health to my family, so I am thankful to be part of such a place where goodness, discipline, and knowledge still resonate in each day of grace.
I want to take a moment to thank those listed on our pages for your generosity. We have established scholarships in honor of those who helped build this institution, and I can see how your choice to make Covington Latin School a giving priority directly benefits this new generation of students who otherwise would not be able to afford a Covington Latin School education. Your investment will not only pay dividends for these students, but for society at large. Thank you.
I look forward to seeing more of our alumni as we prepare for the celebration of our centennial. I am honored to join this community and am humbled to serve our families in educating for the future.
