6. Maple Bay Beach Park is only minutes away from downtown Duncan. Popular amongst the locals as the salt water is warm during the summer months. Some sand and pebbles make up the bottom. This is not a large beach area but a great area. Washrooms are available.

7. Bright Angel Park in Cowichan Station is on the Koksilah river and has several lovely swimming holes. The popular spot is directly under the suspension bridge and can easily be accessible on either side of the bridge. If this spot is busy just walk along the river bed and you will find other spots where you can set up for the day. There are lovely picnic areas as well as washrooms.

8. West Shawnigan Lake Provincial Park on West Shawnigan Lake Road is a great place to spend the day. Lovely swimming beach for everyone with lots of space. Trail throughout the park for small walks with the kids.

9. Bamberton Provincial Park in Mill Bay is not only a campground but has a fantastic day use sandy beach area that goes on for a long way. Crystal clear water for floating around in on those hot summer days. Brings those sand shovels and pails for the little ones.

1. Fuller Lake Provincial Park situated minutes north of Duncan is a fresh water lake and is very popular. Warm water and sandy beach as well as picnic areas make this a great spot for families. 2. Osborne Bay Regional Park in Crofton is right on the ocean and a short walk from the parking lot. This Park has warmer waters and a lovely pebbled beach. Off leash dogs are welcomed here year-round. 3. Transfer Beach in Ladysmith is right off the highway so quick and easy access. Spray Park and sandy beach for the little ones. Paddle boards and kayak rentals are available. Food trucks in the summer. 4. Arbutus Park in Youbou is an awesome swimming spot on beautiful clear water of Lake Cowichan which includes a slide and diving board. It is a little further out but a beautiful drive. Washrooms and change rooms are available. During the summer months lifeguards are at the park. 5. Gordon Bay Provincial Park in Honeymoon Bay on the south shores of Lake Cowichan. The lake is warm

forest and wetlands. This lovely little lake offers fresh cool spring fed water for swimming. Pretty trails go around the lake and perfect for a stroll after a swim. Watch for signs off of Hwy 1 going south.
