Privacy and Interaction Within Multigenerational Housing

Multigenerational housing has been a growing trend in home use. There are a lot of benefits to keeping a family unit close together, so they can share costs and support each other. However, multigenerational living is not for everyone. Many people would need to compromise on their independence or privacy if they decided to live with other generations in their families. This project investigates house design typologies in order to find out how the level of privacy or openness in a house can help maintain independence within a multigenerational family.
