The tree-shaped archipelago is home to renowned hotspots in the city, offering a wide range of activities and private residential properties. Palm Jumeirah island’s master plan was designed by Helman Hurley Charvat Peacock Company, an American architectural firm.

The man-made island reportedly cost an estimated $12 billion (AED44 billion) to build.

Palm Jumeirah was created from 7 million tons of rock and sand. No steel or concrete was utilised in the making of the island.

The first occupants arrived on the island a year after construction in 2007.
