It should serve you as your perfect guide through gay Amsterdam with useful information. Discover places you’ve never been before and find out all about the smashing parties there are in Amsterdam. The street maps will show you where to find the hottest spots in this fabulous city. We’re very excited about the Rapido Queensday weekend coming up. On Saturday April 28 we will unite FunHouse, Rapido and a spectacular outside event at the Rapido Festival. From 15:00 till 07:00 with an legendary performance from Alexandra Stan. On Sunday April 29 Paradiso will host the classic Rapido event. Shawnee Taylor will make sure this edition will be once again a memorable one. But Amsterdam has much more to offer; for young and old there is always something to experience in Amsterdam. Stichting Willen & Doen richt zich op kansarme kinderen met HIV in Zuid-Afrika. De stichting wil deze groep, die zich bevindt in de onderste lagen van de samenleving, kansen bieden om hun positie te verbeteren. Sinds onze oprichting in 2007 hebben wij verschillende projecten in Zuid-Afrika opgezet. We hebben daarmee onze WIL een verschil te maken omgezet in een DOEN. We hebben o.a. bijgedragen aan het opzetten van enkele kindertehuizen om kinderen, ge誰nfecteerd met, of wees door HIV, weer een toekomst te bieden. Maar opvang alleen is niet voldoende om het probleem van HIV terug te dringen. Daarom investeren we ook in onderwijs, landbouw, medische voorzieningen en HIV-counseling.

The voice of Mr Saxobeat. Alexandra Stan was born in 1989 in Constanta on the Black Sea shore. She studied at the Traian High School and now she is a student at the Faculty of Management â&#x20AC;&#x153;Andrei Sagunaâ&#x20AC;&#x153;. From a very young age Alexandra showed a special interest in music singing known melodies and even creating her own songs. She grew up and evolved surrounded by music and dreaming at the days when she herself would be a singer. She participated in various music-related contests winning a lot of awards. The most recent festival in which she participated was Mamaia Music Festival in 2009 where she had a beautiful apparition. She is a sensitive soul and a happy person who believes in the shiny side of life. The road towards musical success and a creative career was opened to her by the team at Maan Studio, Marcel Prodan and Andrei Nemirschi, who provided her with a new way of expressing herself. Alexandra became known worldwide with her first single Lollipop and she made everybody trust her musical talent.

Her debut album was released in 2011 entitled Saxobeats showcasing the #1 hit Mr Saxobeat that placed her on the map. Mr. Saxobeat reached the first places in the international music tops and held there for weeks. The international public gave her a great feedback and lots of requests from abroad lead to her first tour in France at the beginning of 2011. Artist Highlights Shawnee Taylor Born to A-list professional musicians, if talent were computed by association alone, then it would be understandable why Shawnee Taylor is as blessed as she is. Shawnee works with a who’s who in the world of dance such as Erick Morillo, Junior Sanchez, Todd Terry, Richard Grey, Harry Romero, Jose Nunez, Sandy Rivera, Greg Cerrone and more. Subliminal Records’ Erick Morillo says “The thing that impresses me most about Shawnee Taylor is not only that she has a great voice but she is a kick ass writer and a wonderful person too. A triple threat. And that’s rare in this business.” Music is in Shawnee’s blood, literally. Born in LA, Shawnee’s father, a jazz bassist, played in chat show king Johnnie Carson’s band while her mother sang with the legendary John Coltrane and dapper crooner Lou Rawls. While in boarding school she became musically proficient, learning how to read, write and arrange in classical, opera, jazz and choral while her theatre coach helped nurture her dynamic stage presence. At Hampton University in Virginia she shone in a nationally renowned gospel choir. It was during a weekend break from boarding school that Shawnee ran into DJ Romain who heard the teenager casually singing a tune in a Manhattan record store. That chance meeting led to Shawnee’s weekly trips home to record. Through Romain, her

By the time she had sung on Kid Creme’s Austin’s Groove and Richard Grey’s Do What You Wanna Do, Morillo knew that Shawnee Taylor was more than just a session singer. Her most recent tracks from this year include the spectacular collaboration with Erick Morillo and Eddie Thoneick on Live Your Life and Stronger released on Subliminal and D:Vision Records respectively. Another single is the infallible Where You Are in collaboration with Harry Romero, Junior Sanchez and Alexander Technique. It seems Shawnee Taylor is set for stardom, if she isn’t there already!

Boom Chicago Boom Chicago’s New Show Premieres April 11: Branded For Life, A comedy show about what we buy, what we sell, and what we want. With sharp comedy and quick thinking, Boom Chicago’s new show focuses on the choices we make and why. These decisions happen not just in the store, but everywhere in our lives. Why do we love some things and mock others? When you’re talking about products, or even people, it’s all about the brand, baby. Branded For Life also shines a light on those who shape our opinions. Mad Men, marketers and spin doctors work behind the scenes to pull our strings and “engage” us. The show begins with BrandLab, the creative start of the evening, which happens during dinner and drinks. Our marketing scientists welcome you and do an intake interview. How involved to do you want to get? Would you like to help us co-create the show? Do as much (or as little) as you want. Our multi-media scientists can “rebrand” you or your friend in your group in an extreme marketing makeover. We will write, shoot and edit a video “commercial” for the new you to download after the show. After BrandLab comes the main event, our multimedia improv and sketch comedy show. Incorporating what’s going on in the theater and what’s going on in the world, Branded For Life, is unique in the world. Together our actors, musicians, and video technicians will make you laugh and look differently at the products you use and the things you crave. You will leave the show branded for life!
