Faculty of Education Application Guidelines

The Faculty of Education prides itself on the overwhelming interest that our prospective students have in the faculty. The faculty receives numerous applications each year, so here are a few things to consider when submitting your application:

• The minimum admission requirement for BEd qualifications, excluding subject requirements, is an APS of 32. Due to the high number of applications and our maximum enrolment capacity, the faculty selects applicants and admits students by ranking the APS from the highest to the lowest.

• Students are admitted from the highest APS and lower down to the qualifying criteria, or until enrolment capacity is reached. The likely acceptance level is an APS of 36 and above having met the subject requirements.

• Applications for BEd qualifications close on 28 July 2023. All applications submitted by the closing date will be evaluated, however, provisional and full acceptances will only be issued after the closing date.

• At the application stage, please ensure that you select the correct campus based on the language of learning and teaching (or language of instruction). The language of learning and teaching at the Mowbray campus is English, while the language of learning and teaching at the Wellington campus is Afrikaans

• The faculty also encourages qualifying BEd applicants with the required subjects to pursue Mathematics and Science education streams.

Best wishes on your application.
