Congratulations to the graduating class of 2022. You are the first class to graduate in person after two years of virtual ceremonies. It is a fitting reward, considering that when you initially signed up for your specific
course, the majority of you did not anticipate studying remotely and rarely seeing your classmates or lecturers in person. Well done on staying the course through a difficult period, and rising up to the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.
You have persevered through unprecedented times, and I hope that today marks the start of a lifetime of achievements, both personally and professionally. By graduating from CPUT you have already set yourself up for success because you join an alumni network of thousands of graduates around the country and
BOODSKAP VAN DIE VISEKANSELIER
Beste Graduandi
Geluk aan die graduerende klas van 2022. Julle is die eerste klas wie in persoon graad vang na twee jaar se virtuele seremonies. Dit is so gepas.
the globe. One day you may also be in a position to open doors for a graduate, and I hope that you will look out for fellow CPUT alumni and give them a work place opportunity.
At CPUT, our aim is to produce future leaders who are going to change the world. Stay connected to the Institution so that we can support you as you do.
Kind regards
Vice-Chancellor
Prof Chris Nhlapo

TITLE: INTEGRATION OF AN E-HEALTH SYSTEM WITHIN THE E-GOVERNANCE FRAMEWORK IN A DEVELOPING COUNTRY
E-health and e-governance are two essential phenomenon that have often been studied and implemented separately, leaving critical gaps of note. With focus on improving service delivery, Laizah Mutasa developed a solution to integrate e-health systems with e-governance for the Namibian environment. This was done through a complementary use of lenses, Activity Theory and Actor-Network Theory. The main and original contribution of the study comes from the innovative solution developed, for intervention and addressing complex systems’ integration. From the governments’ front, the solution can be employed globally. The solution offers alternative theoretical frames for information systems scholars.

TITLE: A MIXED METHODS INTERVENTION TO ENHANCE THE MATHEMATICS
CAPABILITY OF FIRST-YEAR INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY STUDENTS AT A UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY
This research tells the story of an intervention designed to teach proportions and fractions to a group of under-prepared, vulnerable first-year students at a South African university of technology. The researcher considered what causes underpreparedness of South African school leavers in Mathematics, and prepared a case study with a series of authentic tasks, among which students were sent to a supermarket to observe different sizes of packaging of the same product and perform a range of calculations in response. The candidate developed valuable strategies for the authentic teaching of Mathematics at first-year level.
