Hello and a warm (29 degrees to be precise) welcome to our 21st issue! We’re well into the swing of summer over at the CPWM office – the iced oat lattes are flowing while the sweet sounds of Jamie XX’s In Colour blast through Scott’s speaker. After a big month of music conferences and sheep herding (yes, you read that right), we’re all super excited to head to Deer Shed to catch some of our favourite artists, including CPWM alumni Bored At My

Grandmas House, Treeboy

& Arc and Van Houten. Despite the relentless heat and our even more relentless social schedule, we’ve been working just as hard as we play. The events team kicked off the newest series of Come Platform Me events with How Do You Do? at Sheaf Street and Beyond The Melodies at Hyde Park Book Club last month. Our next one will take place on August 4th so be sure to save the date! We’ve also just launched a brand-new call out for West-Yorkshire based artists, offering the opportunity to release a digital single with us (and the potential to feature on our next Side by Side vinyl compilation!) You’ll also find news about all of our latest releases, including Sunflower Thieves’ gorgeous debut EP 'Someone To Be There For' – the perfect indiefolk soundtrack to your summer (and still available to purchase on splatter vinyl). We’ve got loads more coming on the label side later in the year, so be sure to drop us a follow to keep up to date… Finally, we celebrated a couple of team birthdays, seeing in our mag assistant Matilde’s quarter century with techno and tequila in Manchester. Our label manager Eva’s birthday bash saw some of our favourite local bands take the stage at Oporto, including post-punk quartet Pop Vulture. This issue features words from Deer Shed headliners
