ASHISH BOSE ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER PROFILE Hi, I’m Ashish, born and brought up in NOIDA currently pursuing architecture. Leaning towards inter-disciplinary design solutions as well as trying new techniques and technologies in my philosophy. Learning how to provide most optimized custom solution for architectural challenges. Travelling and architectural photography has provided me insight into Vernacular design solutions as well as cultural value of spaces around the country. In the off-time from architecture, I pursue some hobbies leaning towards photography, music and arts. Over the years, an important lesson and part of my philosophy has been to avoid providing one size fits all solutions to architectural challeneges. I want to give time and hone skills to understand spaces and their context to provide best possible solutions in my design approaches.

THE PAVILION A NEW ACADEMIC SPACE
The Pavilion space is designed for emerging architecture students of the Jamia Millia Islamia to showcase their work. ThePavilion is designed for the youth of new India heading towards revolutionary and sustainable ideas in architecture to propel India’s progress and rival that of developed nations of the world. The Pavilion is designed as a beacon to look forward to for the opportunities the emerging youth of India can achieve with their talent, hard work and passion for its progress.
FACADE The Facade is designed as per the climatic conditions of Northern India and to introduce bleeding edge technology in architecture towards sustainability and energy conservation. The Facade is a complex skin of individual modules which can be programmed to regulate the amount of sunlight exposed to the interior as well as exterior of the building as panel openings can be regulated while in sync with the climatic as well as weather data of the space which will cause a major impact on the usage of electricity for lighting and temperature control in the interior spaces. These panels can be automated entirely with the collaboration of micro-climate simulation programs to achieve maximum efficiency in lighting and HVAC energy consumption.

PERSPECTIVE VIEW
ROOF The Roof is a curvilinear space frame design which consists of steel members to provide tensile strength to the roof while remaining relatively light in terms of weight of the roof structure and the usage of material. Almost 85% percent of the roof structure is hollow and only consists of the steel frame of the roof therefore the HVAC, electrical system as well as plumbing for rain water harvesting can be routed from between the roof and the ceiling ensuring no hinderance to the aesthetic as well as functional aspects of the interior space. The space frame is covered by watertight shielding material to ensure prevention of water logging and leakage and the final layer is of aluminum sheeting to provide a monolithic aesthetic to the structure in accordance with the facade. The ceiling is a complex parametric placement of wooden member columns which form an undulating mass on the ceiling to provide an aesthetically calming experience to the crowds present in the Display gallery of the Pavilion.
