Creative Paper still Going Strong Creative paper is still operating at their original site at Old Surry Road thanks to the generosity of Australian Paper. Creative Paper was to move to new premises at the old Parklands High site when a devastating fire demolished the building. Fortunately most of the fittings were safely stored and were not lost in the blaze. It is hoped that a new development at the Parklands site will still allow Creative Paper and the Burnie Visitor Information Centre to relocate in the future. In the meantime Joanna and her staff will continue to greet your customers in the same professional manner. For further information contact Joanna Gair 03) 64307717 manager@creativepapertas.com.au

Gay Friendly Marketing Activity Tourism Tasmania has targeted the gay & lesbian (G&L) market for several years, and shortly we will be placing an on-line banner ad on five G&L websites promoting holiday packages to Tasmania in June - September. The banner ad will click through to a micro website which features seven packages staying at gay friendly properties around the island. Each package clicks through to a subordinate page which has more detailed itinerary information on "things to do & see" in the area.

If you wish to have your activity, attraction or accommodation included in this marketing activity you need to comply with a number of prerequisites. For further information contact Rita Warrener 03) 6230 8136 or rita.warrener@tourism.tas.gov.au

Tourism Insight Forums Tourism Tasmania in conjunction with the Cradle Coast Authority is conducting two workshops in the Cradle Coast region that are a must for all tourism operators local tourism associations and Local Government staff working in the tourism sector. The locations are:• •

Burnie Wednesday 1st August 2007 Strahan Thursday 2nd august 2007

The times, venues and detailed agenda will be confirmed shortly but please ensure these dates are in your diary. This is a time of significant change. The holiday market has changed dramatically in the past few years and that change is continuing. This has required changes in the way Tourism Tasmania and Cradle Coast Authority operates and unless you too can adapt to that change you will be missing significant opportunities in the market place. Each workshop will be broken into two sections, marketing and destination development, allowing you to nominate the areas that you are particularly interested in. It will also provide an opportunity to share information and provide input into the development of strategies for the future. We look forward to seeing you there. Further information will be provided in the next couple of weeks.
