MEDIA RELEASE

7 July 2010

Time running out for Regional Tourism Forum registrations

There are only two weeks to go until registrations close for Tasmania’s premier regional tourism event, the Qantaslink Cradle Coast Regional Tourism Forum. Scheduled for 27 and 28 July in Burnie, the Forum’s registrations are steadily climbing towards the target of 150 delegates. Event organiser and Cradle Coast Authority Regional Tourism Development Manager, Ian Waller, is encouraging industry members to not leave it until the last minute to secure their place. “Now more than ever it’s time for us to come together, share experiences and kick‐start an upturn in visitor numbers. This is the sixth Regional Tourism Forum and history shows that it’s a networking and information sharing event not to be missed,” Mr Waller said. “We have leaders of Tourism Tasmania, TT Line and the Tourism Industry Council of Tasmania attending to share their ideas in addition to the State Minister for Tourism. There will be 12 expert speakers all presenting tourism insights around the theme Fish Where The Fish Are.” Registrations can be made for the entire Forum including the opening cocktail party and dinner, or for individual sessions. The Regional Tourism Forum dinner on 28 July will feature the winner’s announcements and a presentation ceremony for the Cradle Coast Advocate Newspaper Regional Tourism Awards. The Forum program and registration form can be downloaded from http://www.cradlecoast.com/tourism_forum.html and enquiries are welcome by calling the Cradle Coast Authority on 6431 6285. End… Cradle Coast tourism works with the tourism and associated industries, Councils, State Government and visitor centres to create a regional tourism sector that delivers economic, social and environmental benefits to the North West and West Coast of Tasmania.
