MEDIA RELEASE

4 May 2011 Marketing packages save tourism operators time and money

Tourism operators in the Cradle Coast region can get more return from their promotional dollars with the release of the 2011/12 North West Coast and Western Wilderness Zone Marketing Prospectus. The prospectus contains a variety of advertising packages all aimed at increasing the exposure of local tourist attractions, accommodation and venues.

Operators can select a package to suit their budget and business goals including advertising in the new Holiday Guides, features on Discover Tasmania, Tasmania’s North West and Western Wilderness web sites and in Facebook and Twitter competitions, exposure at interstate consumer shows, publication of printed and online advertising and participation in trade and media familiarisation programs.

Also included in the prospectus is the option for businesses to participate in Braddon Business Centre mentoring programs and to use the services of professional photographers and graphic designers. Tourism operators have the flexibility to purchase individual, non‐package campaign options too if more appropriate to their business.

The concept of cooperative marketing packages is not new to Cradle Coast tourism operators. For the past two years the Cradle Coast Authority tourism team on behalf of the region’s Zone Marketing Groups has been compiling promotional opportunities for operators that individually would be cost prohibitive to secure. The individual promotional campaigns and activities included in the prospectus’ Platinum Package has a retail value of $13,820 but with combined purchasing power can be bought by operators for only $6,990. Individual promotions can be secured for as low as $40.

Operators have the chance to hear details of the packages and ask questions of the Zone Marketing Groups, Cradle Coast Authority tourism staff and Tourism Tasmania Zone Marketing management team at the following industry information sessions:
